Are they making some changes for this younger age group, less travel, incomplete schedule, etc., that somehow justify taking them out of of the standings? Looks like from a couple CCL club websites, they do not have a CCL U11 team.

I wonder if the rules are outdated. With the age change, the CCL age groups go up to U19 (where last year the oldest was U18), so everything kind of shifted. It would make sense if the standings were now based on U12-U19, where they were U11-U18 before.

Its' also consistent at least with WAGS, that didn't start standings until U12 (and only grouped by record spring U12).

Yes, it could be due to birth year and the rules out of date (even though they were recently updated). I know last year U11 results were included in the web site standings, but they must have moved everything up by a year as a previous poster said. So, in addition to not tracking the U9s and U10s up in NoVA, the U11s from all 16 clubs must be not part of the trackings and standings computations for whatever reason.

Or, could the CCL rules be right, and some tech. guy in charge of programming the transition and age groups forgot to add back the U11s on the website?! Why leave them out of club standings? Because other leagues wait until U12 to begin promotion/relegation? Still curious a bit, but all good theories.

rules have been updated. u11 is now a developmental division like u9 and u10. all excluded from standings.

Doesn't look like Premier Cup will be impacted, most of the games are on turf fields and in the PW area just light rain in the afternoon has been forecast. Everything looks good for Sunday and Monday.

Heard there was a scuffle at OBGC.

Heard that's as well. A Pachuca Riverplate player literally punched a kid twice in the face

What age group?

Oldest, U19 I believe. If this is true Mr Libber should handle it quick and that game should be forfeited

At the DMV Cup, why do goals count as points? Why encourage teams to run up the score on overmatched opponents? Seems like a built-in, institutionalized form of poor sportsmanship, but there must be a good, defensible reason behind it, correct?

Those four clubs are CCL clubs.

See original announcement here: http://washingtonspirit.com/news/washington-spirit-named-founding-member-of-u-s-soccer-girls-development-academy/

In addition to Washington Spirit, FCV and Virginia Development Academy were also named GDA member clubs from this area.

Being "affiliated" with a DA is not the same as having a DA. The affiliation can be severed at anytime. Loudoun or SYA will act as player pools, they will not have their own Girls DA team. So you are wrong on several accounts.

Spirit plays at Maryland Soccerplex stadium, which has a capacity of 4000. On a good night they might get 500 ppl watching. Spirit will fold just like every other women's team sport in the US always has. Last incarnation lasted 3 years, so we should not have to wait too long.

This is idiotic.

The SoccerPlex can hold a little more than 5,000, and the Spirit have gotten that a couple of times. Their crowds are usually between 3,000 and 4,500. They averaged more than 4,000 last year.
http://equalizersoccer.com/2016/08/31/the-lowdown-another-messy-re-entry-for-nwsl/

They drew more than 4,500 tonight as they clinched a playoff spot.

I've been to about two-thirds of their games. It's a great atmosphere.

This is Year 4. The league has not yet lost a single team.

So let me ask -- what would possess you to write something that's either completely ignorant or outright malicious?
