OK, so A1 and C1 if they win. A1 Cosby should beat B2 easily, so whoever wins D1/C2 would have to travel to Richmond twice in four days to win states.

It is based on hoe the bracket is structured. If two teams are the same seed, the team that is placed higher on the bracket is the host team. Same applies to regional play.

It is based on hoe the bracket is structured. If two teams are the same seed, the team that is placed higher on the bracket is the host team. Same applies to regional play.

Right, but how is it decided who is placed higher in the bracket? Is is a coin toss?

2023 it was:

A1 vs. B2
B1 vs. A2

C1 vs. D2
D1 vs. C2

Last year it was:

C1 vs. D2
A1 vs. B2

B1 vs. A2
D1 vs. C2

This year it is:

A1 vs. B2
D1 vs. C2

C1 vs. D2
B1 vs. A2
