Cycles had traditionally been 2 years for alignment, but VHSL site has this one going 4.

That high school is going to open in ‘28 from what was first released.

While Indy needs to prove it on the field, they just have more and lost less than Riverside this past year. Should be much closer than in the past.

Freedom was heavy in talent in the 24 class. I expect them to take a step back this year.

The new LCPS School will mostly pull some from Briar Woods, but mostly Indy when it opens.

1) Langley (Still have Talent from 2024)
2) Robinson (It's Robinson, they are always good)
WC: Madison (Well Coached, tons of youth Talent at JV)

5a
1) Indy (They graduated 2 players, and their best players are 2026), This is their last year in 5A, before going 6A in 2026.
2) Riverside (Always Good)
WC: Briar Woods (Talented, youth needs to play a big role this Spring)

4a
1) Loudoun County
2) Broad Run
WC: Woodgrove

Why do you believe Independence will be changing to 6a in the 25/26 year? Seeing VHSL just adjusted last year- Champe, Woodgrove among others and those adjustments are THROUGH the 26/27 year, why would Indy be changing for 25/26?

As an outsiders perspective, the 25s at Indy are better players than the 26s. However I am going to guess you are an Indy dad with a 26 there!

I'm not affiliated with Indy in any capacity. My statement comes from what I have been told from folks within LCPS and associated with various Athletic Departments/LCPS Coaches. VHSL is on a 4-year alignment cycle, but can be reevaluated for changes for the 3rd and 4th year based on enrollment, rezoning, etc. The upcoming 2025 season is the 2nd year of the 4 year cycle. It sounded like Indy was going to 6A, Freedom was moving to 5A, and Champe was going back up to 5A from 4A. We'll know in a few months, when VHSL has their meetngs and chnages posted.

Doubt they would do it for 1 year. It would be a logistical nightmare.

Anyone have intel on this?

Usually matches ups are "Home and Home" cycles. So I am assuming this 3 way match up with continue again in 2025!

How are you seriously putting Indy above Riverside? Riverside returns their entire defense. They replace a great goalie with one who could be even better. They return all of their 26's class which boasts multiple college level players.... and Riverside beat them last year 3 times. Two of those times the score was 21-6 and 17-11. Where does Indy make up that goal differential?

Let’s not do this again this year. Last preseason the Indy hype train ruined the message board and they lost to Riverside 3 times and got crushed by Midlothian. If they beat Riverside this year, great. But another preseason of reading how good they are might ruin the fun of the season before it even starts.

sorry, but whenever I hear Indy, I can't think of anything but the video of player who ran across the field after a game was over to slash an opposing player in the back. I know it's not right to tar a team with the actions of one kid, but c'mon.

This is fairly easy! being that the talent on Riverside and Indy is fairly equal, Indy 25/26s are MUCH deeper then the same upperclassmen at Riverside. They just have more quality players with experience.
Yes RHS may have 5 good/great player but Indy has 10. Just a numbers game.
At the same time, RHS LOST many starters namely their Fogo, DR and DM- that is a lot of goals and possessions just gone.

Riverside has never proven to be able to replace good players year after year. They probably should just forfeit. Numbers game.

If the talent is equal how did they lose so bad to Midlothian?

Indy is clearly a top team this year and I for one really enjoy reading posts about the team.

Pendence has 2 1/2 good/great players and slightly above average varsity players. Why are we doing this again? They're a good team, they'll win a bunch of games. They'll lose 2-3 times to Riverside and be done. Stop setting this team up for failure.

Does Pendence even have any commits? I keep hearing about how they have a lot of depth but what type of top end talent do they have?
