This list is a whatever to me- who is doing the voting and how much lax did they really watch from the Publics? The WP is horrible about lax coverage in the area, DW had to sell his son hard to get him on there.

Funny how the 3 All Americans from US Lax didn't make the local all-met team?

Agree on all points. However, in 6A there was a correlation between All Americans and All Met. Of 5 All Americans from 6A schools (McLean, Langley, Robinson, Madison, West Po), each one was first or second team All Met. Perhaps WAPO doesn't have the bandwith to watch 5A and 4A as closely.

For the most part, aren’t the 4a and 5a schools further south and perhaps outside the WaPo distribution area/per view?

I suppose that’s not quite true with some 5a in Loudon County through.

Last year's class 5 All-State POY was All Met HM and All-American. So yes there should be correlation/consistency. But All-State list comes out late, so what can they really go on?

All-American got it right as "excellent sportsmanship" is a stipulation.

There are 5a across the state, from what I recall 5a, hasn't been dominated by Loudoun County for 10+ years? If I have it right it's been from Stone Bridge to Briar to Riverside and now Indy? Has anyone else won 5a from Richmond?

Agree - my son is teammates with one and has played against the other four multiple times - all five are respectful kids and class acts

All met is always very subjective at best and remains the highest post season honor a local player can achieve. The new guy in charge of lacrosse has really done a great job of giving public schools players love like no one before him has. WP does not get out to Loudoun often which does not help their odds.

However, Loudoun teams do themselves no favors when it comes to All Met. With the exception of Riverside they don’t play Maryland powerhouses or local privates so there’s no real bar for comparison for WP. Comparatively 6A schools had games and/or scrimmages against Severna Park, South River, Broadneck, Urbana, Whitman and multiple low end privates. This helps a lot when trying to rank players from a broad region.

Add in 5A All State voting and release of All Americans being super late and you get these results.

Would agree with all, but I think that UALAX all American is the highest honor a local player can get.

The Wapo guy is a joke and him giving out dei kudos to public schools shouldn't be the point of the rankings or player awards. That wapo has a baltimore school ranked #1 shows how bad and desperate they are to hold onto whatever subscription base they have left. Btw, it's not working.

Totally agree just can’t think of any public school players since the Stonebridge days to be one.
