So all of you who are complaining about Walz saying IVF when they used IUI, and saying he has been lying are not going to vote, right? Because if you can't tolerate Walz "lying" about which ARTS procedure was used to create their children and that he worked as a E9 but retired as an E8 and mistakenly said that he was a retired E9, must be absolutely living about the many lies that Trump tells daily.

Trump has lied about being a self-made man when his father started him off with hundreds of millions of dollars.
Trump has lied to each of his wives as he has cheated on each of them.
Trump has lied on the stand that he did not sexually assault E Jean Carroll.
Trump has lied about having a sexual affair with Stormy Daniels.
Trump has lied about his financial documents in trying to cover up his affair with Stormy Daniels
Trump has lied about winning the 2020 election.
Trump has lied about being the best president for Black Americans.
Trump has lied about his successes in office. He has lied about doing a better job on the national debt than Obama and Biden when he increased it more than either of them did in their terms in office.
Trump has lied about his respect for the military when he has called them losers and suckers.
Trump has lied about being in a helicopter with Willie Brown.
Trump has lied about the size of his rally crowds. Even comparing his rally crowd to the attendance at the MLK "I Have a Dream" speech.
Trump has lied about paying people who work for him, like all of the lawyers that have been disbarred for defending him with additional legal lies.

Trump has lied more this week than Walz has lied in multiple careers spanning over 30 years.

If honesty and integrity are so important for you, then you have to abstain from voting because if Walz' lies are enough that you would not vote for him, then you most assuredly cannot vote for Trump who has no honesty or integrity.

This, but Trumpers are insufferable hypocrites.

+1000 how about ignoring them? Or simply responding with links to Trump's litany of lies?

So it’s bad that Trump lies, but okay that Walz does? Please explain.

We would like you to dedicate the same care and interest to dissecting Trump's lies. We'll wait.

I am the poster that brought it up just a few pages back and I am certainly not voting for Trump or Harris. Still deciding who to write in. Probably my DD. She is honest to a fault.

A guy omits junior when describing chamber of commerce is on par with a guy who didn’t call the National Guard when the the Capitol was under attack and has you writing in your daughter. It would be funny if our nation’s future wasn’t @ stake.

It’s been discussed and it’s a stupid thing to nit pick over. Most people don’t know what IUI is and unless you have zero social skills, you’re not going to explain it every time you discuss it.

Of course if it’s your candidate it’s stupid to nit pick over. The guy lied. He didn’t use IVF, but said he did to score political points. Own it.

Are you really this stupid, or just troll a lot online.

I am smart enough to know that IUI and IVF are two completely different procedures. So there’s that.

Why do you want to know exactly which artificial tube a guy's sperm was put through, you freak?

Because fertilizing an egg outside the body is completely different from fertilizing one inside the body. You freak.

Are you going to treat both of them the same morally, or is one going to be treated differently, you silly pedant?

If you think taking a pipette and inserting sperm into a woman’s uterus is no different than giving her drugs to stimulate the ovaries, putting her under and harvesting the eggs when they’re ready, injecting the egg with sperm in a lab, waiting until they divide enough to be implanted, choosing the best ones, freezing the rest, and then going back in and implanting the embryo in the woman’s uterus, then there is literally no rational conversation to be had here. None.

Yeah, so again, are you going to treat the fertilized products of these conceptions the same, or ... ?

They’re both babies. I don’t see your point. Are the republicans trying to ban IUI specifically?

Anyone?

Broadly speaking, Project 2025 (and similar) has problems with Assisted Reproductive Technology (and others, such as surrogacy, but that's not part of the discussion here). Fertility treatments that only deal with sperm, such as artificial insemination and intrauterine insemination (IUI) do not fall under this definition.

Thank you. That was my point. This makes Walz claiming he went through IVF even more egregious. And yet the Dems are hand waving it away.

Lots of people use IVF as a shorthand for all types of ART, mainly b/c there remains more stigma about semen than eggs.

Don’t you think he should know this if it’s one of his limited talking points?

So far, Harris and Walz are the party of frivolity and grandiosity. Everything he says seems to require an edit to pare back claims.

DP but the “lies” you’re calling him on are not lies and if you held everyone to that standard, not one person is qualified to run. Because normal people don’t go into the weeds on every word in every conversation - some people have social skills.

I thought Democrats were against “whataboutism”?

“The communication intent is often to distract from the content of a topic (red herring). The goal may also be to question the justification for criticism and the legitimacy, integrity, and fairness of the critic, which can take on the character of discrediting the criticism, which may or may not be justified. Common accusations include double standards, and hypocrisy, but it can also be used to relativize criticism of one's own viewpoints or behaviors. (A: "Long-term unemployment often means poverty in Germany." B: "And what about the starving in Africa and Asia?").[5] Related manipulation and propaganda techniques in the sense of rhetorical evasion of the topic are the change of topic and false balance (bothsidesism).[6]”

Good god, we have been dealing with this for last 8 years, you guys are in tears in 4 weeks? That too for something as simple as not bothering to distinguish IVF and IUI because both work towards similar goal that republicans are trying to abolish.

Walz was fact checked by his own wife. She’s got to be sick of his lies, exaggerated statements, misstatements, etc.

I am the poster that brought it up just a few pages back and I am certainly not voting for Trump or Harris. Still deciding who to write in. Probably my DD. She is honest to a fault.

Congrats on being manipulated by foreign adversaries to throw away your vote, I guess.

Manipulated by foreign adversaries? You Dems have lost your minds. Truly.

NP... if you think Walz has told intolerable unacceptable lies and cannot under any circumstance be voted for, then you'd better just uninvolved yourself from politics altogether and stop voting for anyone at all. The best the right wing has been able to come up with is a handful of things that at best could be called minor embellishments, fewer than one can count on one's fingers, over the entire span of 30+ years. Frankly that makes Walz cleaner and more honest than 99% of current sitting politicians out there.
