Jogger Chased and Shot

It's against the law for one. Someone bought that lot and was having their home built. Why would someone think they can go onto that property and inside the home? Framed or not.

That jogger wasn't admiring the structure fyi. Many look for expensive equipment, copper, or tools left behind. From all the videos I saw all 3 showed poor judgement. The two men should have called police instead of trying to confront him. I would think they will get some sort of judgement against them. Problematic may be the jogger charging the one man, and perhaps other factors.

Problematic may be the jogger defending himself against an armed thug who provoked the altercation?

First of all white guys in black neighborhoods are way safer.

I made a huge mistake back in 1991 I bought a used Jeep off a nice black couple in Manhattan . Totally legit. Well I was supposed to pick it up after work.

Well I left Wall Street took four train way up into Harlem got off at Lex and started to walk to First Ave in my suit and trench coat.

Well I get to Third and realize there is a gigantic welfare complex in my way. I see a few guys dealing drugs, some gang members starred right at me. I grew up in a bad section so I know running was not an option, they over take me and know I was a mark.

So I walked straight in, I starred at them, look around, they looked down, I walked right through.

I get to warehouse and guy who owned jeep goes why did you not take a Cab. I say I had no clue when I got off four train I have to go straight through a crack house basically to get there. He says no way in hell as a black man I would do that but you are white so safe.

I said what. He said you are six foot two inch tall, white, Irish looking in a suit, they think you are an undercover cop or a detective, with trench coat they cant see gun. Or you are a decoy out to get robbed or some Bernie Goetz type guy looking to shoot muggers. They are not getting involved with you.

a white guy in a black neighborhood is pretty safe.

It's not trespassing.

From the video all 3 white supremacists did show bad judgement. The jogger did not show bad judgement. He tried to run away from a lunch mob.

The jogger was chased by 2 trucks, trapped between two trucks and when the jogger was assaulted by a man on the street, he defended himself (which is legal, not "bad judgement"), the white supremacist shot him in cold blood.

You can't claim self defense when you are the aggressor. The white supremacists were the aggressors.

If the jogger had committed a misdemeanor, which he did not do, the white supremacists can use force to "citizen arrest" him.

The only thing the white supremacists did that was legal was call the cops and follow him.

This.

But let's keep the bs going on, this was a jogger who was randomly targeted by some snipers...some folks are nuts.

Does trespassing automatically earn you a death sentence in this country?

NP. No, it shouldn’t. But let’s not all pretend that this was random and could happen to anyone. It couldn’t. He was snooping around someone’s private property (that was in a vulnerable state for theft) where he had no business being. When he was caught doing the wrong thing, he didn’t just apologize like a normal person, he acted even more guilty, running away even though he clearly wasn’t a regular jogger there (or probably anywhere due to his attire). When stopped, he defended himself very aggressively even though he knew he had just done something wrong and that people had a fair reason to be suspicious that he had taken something and/or was up to no good. Nobody was a hero here, but nobody was innocent either.

I’m a white woman, planning a house, and I’d love to snoop around sites to get an idea of how it works. But I don’t. You know why not? It’s illegal. And if I decided to do it anyway one day then I’d definitely be ready to explain myself afterwards.

There are some rare cases where a black guy gets shot when he’s innocent (like when the cop was in the wrong apartment) and they are completely unacceptable but most cases have a lot of poor judgement involved. This is one of the cases where it’s a lot more difficult for me to have sympathy for him.

Next stupid question?

Why are you calling others stupid when you’re the one defending the thugs who shot Arbery? You sound racist and stupid, btw.

Wow. You really sound like a horrible person.

Why would he apologize to two random guys with guns? It wasn’t their house. They had no right to get involved at all.

No, I’m not. I’m saying that people need to use better judgement. If you commit crimes then you should be ready to calmly explain yourself rather than add more fuel to the fire by trying to flee or attack the people trying to apprehend you. And if a cop screams at you to stop reaching around in your car because he’s concerned that you might have a gun, then you should actually stop. Stuff like that. When there’s a lot of poor judgement, events become more like accidents than they would otherwise be.

So it's okay for 3 men to chase you down the street with a gun if you drive 20 mph in a 15 mph zone?

This is ridiculous. I'm white, I own a gun, consider myself middle of the road politically. If two rednecks pulled up on me ANYWHERE, in ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, threatening me with assault or with a gun I would:

1. if unarmed, attempt to flee
2. if attacked, fight back
3. if armed, I'd be the first to shoot you'd better believe that

The idea that this guy should have done anything other than GTFO or fight them off is ridiculous.

Stop defending this shit. People need to stop shooting random people because they are hopped up on racism and guns. Period. These people are an embarrassment to the human race and should be handed the death penalty. If the penalty for trespassing is death, the penalty for murder should be 100 times as bad.
