Different poster and I feel the same way. I was bothered by the whole nastiness when they called LAMB Montessori Lite without any basis. My soon to be PK3 kid will be applying elsewhere. |
There have been multiple threads here over many years explaining that LAMB's approach is not strictly Montessori. This isn't bashing. It's not even negative in my opinion (unless you are a Montessori purist). Those threads significantly predate the opening of Lee. This is not something that you can blame Lee parents for.
That said I know several Lee parents who applied to LAMB last year because they valued the language immersion and they aren't hung up on having the most authentic Montessori experience. Yet again, Lee is being bashed unfairly and without basis. |
You're talking to multiple posters pp.
Repeating a false rumor is just as bad as telling it in the first place. |
I always bash LAMB for being Montessori lite and I frequently post about this. I think LAMB is a joke and its parents are clueless re: real Montessori. I am NOT a Lee parent but am a Montessori purist. I commend Lee and Shining Stars (even though they regrettably went AMS as opposed to AMI). |
Sure. Exactly what I was saying. Why would you ever go to Lee and encounter winners like PP? Obviously you are a Lee parent because I've read your posts before where you bash lamb. Sad that you're so insecure. |
Notice that you rarely see people bashing other schools unless it is a Lee parent. Notice that no one here is bashing Lee itself, but the obnoxious parents. |
SIgh. That poster SPECIFICALLY said that she (or he) isn't a LEE parent. That same poster, and others, have been saying this about LAMB for years. Do a search of the threads.
Most people at Lee are there because that's where they landed, not because they are Montessori purists (perhaps 1 or 2 are out of 100 families). This is the problem. Any thread about Lee attracts many people who aren't Lee parents. They post stuff that others find negative or they disagree with and even if they make it very clear that they have nothing to do with our school the school gets blamed. It's bizarre. |
I could not tell you the difference between AMI and AMS
-Most Lee Parents (Including myself) |
Actually - I did do a forum search, and the first time LAMB gets attacked here as Montessori lite is March 2015 - about 6 months into Lee's existence. I don't know what PowerPoint you are referring to, but I'd be curious to know when it was first shown. |
Agree. Though I know we are seeking AMI. Shining Stars is reportedly seeking AMS and LAMB isn't seeking accreditation. |
So you said that to say what? AMI vs AMS is a little like Yale versus Harvard. |
There is no PowerPoint that attacks LAMB. Lee admin and families are very supportive of the charter school environment and other Montessori schools, so of course it doesn't exist. I know DCUM would have that we're somehow indoctrinated to [fulfil whatever is the stereotype du jour] but it's actually a really friendly welcoming community, where most people are generally happy with the school. As for previous threads, the term Montessori lite may have not shown up before this year but LAMB has been criticized for not being "real" Montessori for much longer than that. This is only "bashing" if you think that Montessori accreditation is the holy grail. I guess some do, but I'd be willing to bet that most Lee parents do not. It's not a conversation I have ever had with any Lee families. Simply not that important, for Lee or LAMB. |
LAMB is already accredited by the Middle States Association which is one of the most prestigious accrediting bodies in the world. |
The PowerPoint attacked shining stars Montessori. |
Woah, people. The powerpoint "attacked" no one. It was a ranked list and shining stars happened to be number one. And I played the lottery three years ago before Lee started and people then were saying lamb was Montessori lite. Some people were saying it proudly because they weren't into pure Montessori, and that's fine. |
