Clusterf***. Very disappointed

This is playing out the same way that basically every charter location search goes, except they (maybe foolishly) set a too-ambitious deadline and then promised to say SOMETHING publicly every two weeks. I don't think there's that much risk that Lee won't be SOMEWHERE next year.

I'm confident that we'll end up in a good spot and will know VERY SOON. I don't understand where the "clusterfuck" poster is coming from. They are getting their ducks in a row, they have plenty of political savvy and connections, they are working on their construction plans and negotiating a lease. Of course they are not going to announce it until everything is set. We'll hear something in the next couple of weeks, I'm certain. There's no big urgency right now for parents though. It's not as if there are lottery deadlines coming up in the next week or two. We know the school will stay in the current location for the current year and we know it will be elsewhere in 2016. Everyone at the school is chill about this. It's just here on DCUM that the angst appears and I'm pretty sure it's not Lee parents stoking it.

I'm the PP. I said they strike me that way. It is just a feeling I got from them, and as I said, I don't know them well. Perhaps the poster who came after me phrased is better in the sense of them being overly ambitious and perhaps a bit foolish. Every new charter group and parent group eventually comes face to face with the facilities problem. Maybe the Lee people thought they were going to glide through with ease, but they are just like everyone else and will have to work through it. Parents should know that this is the way it goes with a start up charter and should self-select based on their tolerance for these things. I agree that Lee will be alright.

Have you met the staff and admin? Do you know multiple parents? What are you basing your opinions on? Because if it's DCUM that's not real life. The people who keep resurrecting this thread aren't Lee parents because Lee parents get their updates from the school by email and can ask the head of school personally for an update anytime.

No I'm not. You're talking to multiple posters. You drew attention to your own post by making ill informed statements with no basis. There are some posters here who seem hell bent on dragging Lee down, creating conflict where there is none and contributing to unfair or incorrect speculation about the expectations and abilities of the Lee team. The team are utterly transparent, highly competent and Lee families are welcoming, involved and friendly.

I'm pretty sure in America, we are all entitled to our own opinions. I have my opinion of the Lee team based on my own information and my own experience. I am not ill-informed or without basis; this is not unfair; no one is trying to drag the Lee team down. I am a new poster who developed the same opinion about Lee based on that power point presentation. I would not have been aware of it, had Lee parents not brought it up. I still think whoever did that presentation is an idiot. And I am not afraid to say so.
