Beauvoir Scandal?

I think the PP is making a reasonable suggestion. I posted before on this thread to ask why I hadn't seen any of this in the papers (obviously, that was a while ago). Now I regret that.

This man does have a family who is being hurt by this. Our posts certainly aren't the cause (the teacher's sister needs to recognize that), but it doesn't do any good to get worked up to the point that we look like a lynch mob. I hope that this thread dies out until there is new information to be had.

Yes, I am sure that everyone will be relieved when this thread is no longer active because the investigation has been completed and a conclusion reached. Until then, I have found this thread to touch on so many issues that have prompted me to do more research, ask better questions, and just generally be more aware. Corny as it sounds, I think this thread, after sifting out the rants and hysteria, has made me a better parent.

I believe it was the teacher's brother that posted the rant. But Im sure if one family member knows of this thread...they all do. So that being said, I agree with you...I hope this thread dies down and so does the lynch mob. I have to wonder if all of these posts have caused someone to take drastic action. Does anyone think that MAYBE he didnt run? That maybe something happened to him? If these kinds of things are being said in a forum...God only knows.

Even if he is innocent, his career is over. So lay off of it. Sit and wait...the truth always comes out.

To the brother of the criminal in question:
If your brother was not guilty of such a thing as child molestation then why would he flee D.C? What reason would he have to leave if he had done nothing wrong? And how would pictures of young male genitalia suddenly appear on a camera that this teacher was given by the school? These are questions that I, surely among others, would like answered.

These are questions for a police investigation to answer. Regardless of whatever questions may exist, the teacher is presumed to be innocent until proven otherwise. At this point, he is not a criminal. He has not even been charged, let alone convicted.

I am not the brother of the teacher in question but here are the facts:

#1 Maybe he did not "flee the area" the school session was over and lots of people leave on regular vacations. Second part of this is the posters on this board have created a dangerous lynch mob mentality. I would leave the area too with all these people out for blood when they dont know the facts.
#2 There arent charges filed against the teacher as of yet. Its been damn near a month since the incident. Dont think there would have been charges filed by now?
#3 This teacher is a super intellegent man. Do you really think that he would be stupid enough to have images like this on a SCHOOL OWEND camera DAYS before it would be turned in to the school?
#4 Would Beauvoir issue an "whoops we screwed up and acussed someone one who wasnt guilty" statement? COME ON!
#5 The teacher put in his resignation way before the incident...not to go teach at Potomac...but to pursue other ventures
#6 Accusations like this killed his career...true or false, these will stay with him forever. His career is dead.
#7 MANY teachers and parents are coming to his defense.
#8 There are TWO teachers in every class...I would be looking at the other teacher as the source of these alleged photos.

Know your facts...think from a place other than emotionally. I am the first to say that those who abuse children in ANY form (physically, mentally, etc.) should be strung up but SOMETHING just doesnt add up here. Something is not right.

I am somewhat perplexed and disturbed by the traffic on this thread.

My child attended Beauvoir before this teacher was hired, so I have no direct experience with him. But my experience with Beauvoir was largely positive -- I found it to be a nurturing, diverse (yes diverse -- racially and economically -- not only children on scholarships but families that didn't have a lot of resources who chose to devote their resources to the tuition). When I was treated for a very serious cancer, the school gave my child exceptional support.

Does this mean I defend them in these circumstances? No, because I have no idea what happened. Maybe they screwed up, maybe they didn't. Probably a little of both. Not many of us handle challenging circumstances just right the first time through. But the point is that since I have no direct knowledge, I shouldn't judge. And unless you do too, neither should you.

And i wonder what prurient appetite is driving the interest here. Please remember that there are children involved. Young children. We can live out the rest of our lives without knowing the details of what happened and we will be just fine. But the attention on these kids cannot help them at all.

Why is everyone so concerned as to whether it's a brother or sister? Does it really matter? Bottom line is that someone(probably several people) in his family don't appreciate the accusatory and demeaning comments made on this blog. Frankly, if it was my family, I wouldn't either. Agreed, if he did something wrong, then he will pay for it, but there's no need to jump to blame.

I agree with one point someone made, it's been almost a month, surely if these pictures were in his possession, there would be enough evidence to arrest him or at least name him. Every other big investigation like this that I hear about, they broadcast the person's name all over the place. It's pretty sad when people are posting "To the brother of the criminal in question". Are we really so ignorant that we're calling someone a criminal when he hasn't even been named by the police yet? I know a lot of people in here have ties to the SUSPECT (not yet criminal) or Beauvoir, but I'm sure a great deal of you are posting having no knowledge of this situation at all.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that at least part or all of #2, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are facts. Then on some there is just a quick anecdote. Even #3 could be considered a fact depending on any kind of IQ or other test that the teacher has taken.

I am the orignal poster of the "facts" list. These are largely not just my opinion
#1 Is opinion/fact...lots of teachers do leave to go elsewhere for the summer...some dont
#2 FACT - NO CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED
#3 He is super intellegent
#4 Beauvoir wouldnt issue such a statement...look at how long it took them to issue the original one
#5 He DID put in his resignation LONG before the incident...and was offered a position at Potomac but was not a decided issue. He had other things he wanted to pursue.
#6 His career is dead now because of this crap - FACT FACT FACT
#7 He has a large group of supporters...ask Jeff
#8 FACT - Two in every class
#9 FACT - And if you think something shady isnt going on at Beauvoir...you have your head in the sand.

Im done reading these boards. I think a lot of you are just looking to fuel the fire and create hysteria. I dont know why. Maybe your lives are so boring that it makes you feel important. Or maybe your views are based upon horrible past expierences (such as the lady who's husband was molested by a sick sick individual). Whatever it is. I hope everyone on here is real proud of themselves. I cant wait to see when the truth comes out and what the lynch mob (aka this thread) as to say then. Grab your forks people...I see that pie being served.
