No one is feeding on agony. Concerned people [doesn't have to be just parents of potential students] now have the lap and closed door information as posted on this forum recently. Ergo the confusion about why the administration took NO action. Talk to children above the age of 6 including teens and ask if this is NORMAL in a school. It is not and no one at Beauvoir has been accountable.

If you are not at Beauvoir or won't be, I find it creepy that you are so "concerned" about this. Focus on your own school and let the parents at Beauvoir deal with their own school. Surely, you must have something better to do with your time, and if you don't, I feel sorry for you! Truly!

But are you affiliated with Beauvoir in any way is the question? If so, there are ways in which you can get answers etc... If you are affiliated with the school, then I don't understand why you care so much? Who owes you any answers? I have no idea what you are talking about in regards to rejection letters. Not me.

Yes, I am. My child is an alum. What ways can I or anyone else get answers? Didn't find out about the lap stuff or Toth's closed door behavior until I learned about it from children recently. Did I miss out on a town meeting at Beauvoir last summer regarding his classroom behavior and what went on his classroom. I received 3 form letters from the school and watched 3 or 4 news clips and that's it.

Hearing this junk from kids is alarming. Finding out the administrator[s] told him to not hold boys on his lap and be with a child behind closed doors is a big red flag for Toth AND the competency of the administration. It's not acceptable at any school so everyone should read this and look at your own school.

Beauvoir held a few town hall type meetings last summer to discuss the incident. Also at the start of this school year additional town hall meetings were held. I think if you contacted the school you could get the information you are seeking. Have you tried???

I saw this covered on America's Most Wanted yesterday evening (June27, 2009). I thought it was interesting that they portrayed him more as a "private school admissions consultant" and tutor than as a elementary school teacher. Anyway, I wonder whether re-showing it reflects a recent development in tracking him down, or whether it's a sign of a stalled investigation.

Hopefully Beauvoir at least still is and they know how many parents (us included) who hold them accoutnable despite the fact no one else really has. We won't be giving them a penny going forward, not that it will matter that much given the numbers of supporters they manage to maintain.

So...Eric if you are there, or if your family is till reading this, are you still around? Teaching again? Enjoying outwitting the authorities?

If you really wanted to teach your former students something, why don't you come back and face the music? Wasn't one of the life rules to be responsible?

We are a current family at Beauvoir, and I must say that one of the most offensive aspects of this case to us has been the veiled attempt on the part of the administration to team up with the Washington Post in order to minimize publicity. Shame on them. At times my husband and I have felt that the school cares more about its own reputation than it does its student body. We have decided that this will be our last year at Beauvoir and will not apply younger sibs...

Arguably, caring about its reputation is a form of caring about its students. When someone learns that your kid attends/ed Beauvoir, wouldn't you rather have the reaction be "oh, that's one of the Cathedral schools, isn't it?" rather than "hey, did you have that pedophile as a teacher?"
