Anyone heard about what happened at Beauvoir--apparently a teacher was found with pornographic images of some of the kids? Anyone know the specifics? |
Bump - is this for real? |
Is this true??? |
bump |
A teacher was found to have a camera containing inappropriate images of a child. At that point, Beauvoir had already decided not to renew the teacher's contract for the fall. Parents were notified last week. |
Don't these schools perform background checks on teachers? For 30K Beauvour has no excuse. |
Oh, yeah - only public school kids should be taken advantage of. Didn't realize rich kids were immune to abuse. Idiot. |
I think the poster meant that with such a large tuition fee, Beauvoir has plenty of money to spend to conduct extensive background checks, whereas public schools are sometimes strapped for cash and have more limited resources.
Is that an excuse for either public or private schools? Definitely not. No one is saying that public school children deserve to be abused. That's just crazy. |
Was that nice? Would you say these words if this were not an anonymous forum? |
I doubt most background checks include reviews of your camera's memory card. |
Background checks are really important and ALL schools and organizations that work with children in any capacity should do them. But please don't forget that those screenings only find information on individuals who have been caught. Sadly, there are many, many perverts out there who are never caught or have not yet been caught. |
No, it wasn't nice, but it also wasn't nice to bring the cost of tuition into a conversation about background checks for teachers. |
Almost as bad as St. Columba's pedophile husband.
Unbelievable. |
Thank you for your diplomatic format. I'm not the pp, but I really feel I have to be careful with every syllable I post on this forum, or it will be misconstrued. |
We should try to take the high road, and just emphasize that even if it is charity child care, background checks are a must. I do not think that the word "idiot" was necessary. I hope that our kids aren't reading these. |
