Any developments with the new club?

I'm sure there have been, but this seems like a blatant attempt to just revive this never-ending thread. If you want to ask about Hydra, start a new thread.

Hearing from a reliable source on the NVSL board the situation with Tuckahoe is being investigated. Personally I don’t understand why.

I have trouble believing that. What possible jurisdiction would the NVSL have over who a pool chooses to rent space to in the winter.

Of these 21, 7 (maybe 8) do not have swimmers listed as swimming at any year-round club. Of the remaining 13 board members, 5 have swimmers at York; 4 have swimmers at Machine; 1 has a swimmer at FISH; 1 has swimmers at NCAP-Tysons; and 2 have swimmers at AAC. The second team rep (who is not listed as a board member) has a swimmer at York.

I have no relation to Tuckahoe, I just like verifiable information and data. Do with this what you want.

I have it on good authority that two of the board members swam for the Sea Devils. Draw whatever conclusion you want from that.

Yep- this is the part of the story that is being missed in all the tears for machine. This is precisely what machine did to the Sea Devils. T is following her playbook.

Agreed - calling fake news on this one

Tuckahoe is hiring their NVSL summer swim coach to head up their PVS team essentially creating a year round program. Could the NVSL say that he can’t be their summer coach? Probably not but that is the only thing that I can think of….

Has the new club swum any meets yet?

New club doesn't even really exist yet. Not recognized by PVS or USA Swimming.

That could make sense if the NVSL were against kids swimming more.

More fake news.

I was just wondering if the NVSL would have an issue with it since summer swim is supposed to be recreational and a summer swim club is now running their own USA swimming program and training them all winter. I am not sure how if would be viewed differently than a Sunday maintenance program but if they are doing an investigation it is the only problem I can think of…not saying it is

You understand being competitive is a core mission of the NVSL, right? Can't wait to see the NVSL ban club swimmers (which I believe was posed in a different thread earlier this year).

Thanks for explaining that. You do realize that there is a difference between Club swimmers participating in summer recreation swim and a summer recreational swim club forming a year round competition team in order to dominate the summer recreational season….

I think there could be grounds for NVSL having some issues that one team has effectively become a year round team under the same coach and has stated this is part of their goal - to create a seamless year round experience for their swimmers under one coach.
