YES. All of this. My 2025 daughter was burnt out on the recruiting focus this past year and club lacrosse was no longer fun for her. She decided she didn't want to consider colleges based on where she could play lacrosse. She's talented, but not the definition of top tier. She loves playing with her high school team but was going to quit club. She ultimately decided to continue with a club team where she has good friends and focus on having fun with it this next year; no recruiting. |
She must be a good kid! Sounds like she’s going to make a great adult! |
Yep, they beat no one ranked lower than 60 in their last tournament. Lost to #64. Capital parent: 'Rankings likely to improve'. Also Capital Parent: 'Ratings mean nothing' Also Capital Parent: 'Playing harder bracket is the most important thing. Wins and losses don't matter' Also Capital Parent: 'Pride 25 played in a higher bracket but they didn't fare well'. |
Moving up a bracket because Pride was afraid to play a team they've already beaten is such a dumb argument I can't believe you aren't embarrassed you said it. I'll stand down if you can provide proof that Katie actually moved to not risk losing to a Capital Orange team. But you can't. Also the game was never on the Pride schedule. I think some Orange parent made this up for message board fodder. Also, which of the two tournaments that Pride played that Cap was absent was second class? Summer Genesis or MidAtlantic Club Championships? Explain please. M&D, Heros and Skywalkers were among the teams that attended both tournaments. B level college coaches? You just make stuff up. |
This is something that has me puzzled. How can KJ and Stars be building a strong, recruitable high school team after happily preparing and advocating for their best players to move to Capital? Those goals seem to be in conflict. I get the marketing spin, “Stars LB is KJ / KC’a A team” but it seems like this is actually just Capital’s C team. For the sake of those girls I hope they are actually given the time and resources of an A level team. |
Commits come from clubs all over the DMV. No need to worry about the girls from the other clubs. Worry about Capitol. Everyone has their individual goals. |
This person also called out g8 as being an elite invitation that Pride was not worthy of. Well yjma goes to G8 but M&d does not. Ever think politics or logistics come into play? Or maybe clc is more elite than M&d thus the “snub.” |
On other pages in this site, you still have Pride parents arguing who was better: Cap23 Blue or Pride23 Black? Now the argument from Pride faithful is that the Black 25 team is greater than or equal to Orange 25. What a change and dip in the program. |
M&D stopped going to G8 and goes to Triple threat now. G8 is a YJ/STEPS tourney and that’s why M&D chose to stop going with the politics and conflicts. |
This. 100% accurate. The fact that previous poster didn’t know this, had zero clue, just proves they aren’t a very knowledgeable lacrosse person. Maybe pipe down. |
And now they are debating between 27 Black and if Stars will catch up. I spot a trend… |
Will be interesting to see how both Capital teams fare in light of this very obvious relationship. Can Capital retain their excellent reputation despite KJ being so present in the tryouts and placement of players? Time will tell if the Stars B team players who made Capitals can keep up. |
I think it was stated earlier that coaches recruit players not teams. The constant arguing over which team is better is silly. If you are playing in a high bracket you will get looks. the top 5 teams in the country represent roughly 100 girls out of the 1,000 that will go D1. Quit blaming politics and everything else other than your DD skills and academics |
It is an elite invitation only tournament and a huge one for recruiting. TJMA go because its ran by Steps-YJ. M&D does not go because they were banned for withdrawing one of their teams. Yes, politics is at play but its still an elite recruiting tournament, one most clubs like Pride aren't invited to. |
They didn't "stop" going, they were forced out. There's a long line of Steps/YJ vs Robinson Sports issues. M&D created a few of their own tournaments. |
