Would he do that? Wow. |
Didn't read this whole thing - but can someone break down what she is supposed to get?
If it is $1m, that is nothing, compared to what he is worth. What about properties? |
Go away. |
Here’s a novel idea…go get a job? She’s got 15-20 years of earning power. And she’s doing better than 99% of Americans as she’ll have a few million in the bank. |
Spot on. I’m not going to feel sorry for a coddled layabout who’s going to have millions of cash in the bank after decades of never working. She doesn’t even need to spend the child support, it can all go into a retirement account. |
Since when did a mere 18 years of marriage entitle anyone to never working again and living like queen until they croak off ex hubby’s dime? Especially if you signed a pre-nup. Girl bye. Go get a job, live modestly, or go find another sucker to leech off of. |
She's not going to have "a few million in the bank." Not sure why everyone keeps saying she is. She was a fool to sign what she did. A complete fool. |
She was a fool to sign She was a fool to stop working She was a fool to not fully fund a retirement She a fool for not investing money She’s a fool for many things… But she can buy a $2.4 M home and live a very comfortable life and in 30 years she will literally have $2.4M dollars. So yes if she doesn’t just spend all her money she will have millions in the bank. |
She could have easily been a SAHM and still stipulated in the prenup that she have a retirement fund and housing fund (not an allowance which is temporary) upon dissolution of the marriage. If my husband left tomorrow I’d have a house and $2M. And we are worth 1/100th of Kevin Costner. Seems pretty silly that she shouldn’t be better off than I would be! |
Where was the petition for divorce filed? I thought Kevin Costner moved out of California to Colorado many years ago. |
Plus 3 kids who will inherit a boatload. And that’s if she never works a day in her life and never remarries another rich guy. She’s better off than over99% of Americans. |
What exactly does $250,000 a month “child support” get spent on if Kevin has to pay 100% of the teen kids’ expenses? That is $3M a year tax free! For the next five or six years! |
He did not buy a single new property in their marriage. He was trying to protect himself from community property and I am sure she was sick of his controlling ways. |
The wife and kids live in Santa Barbara, California. |
I am not an English speaker but I will try. What choice did she really have? It is either marriage with a contract or no marriage for her. It was a smart move to agree to sign a marriage contract he offered because she “locked” Kevin and gained a status as a wife plus she pressured him into having kids with her. He did not even want children but it was “important” for her. Now like a previous poster mentioned, it was NOT smart for her NOT to even figure out how to make her own money in marriage/ fund her retirement/have her own investments, etc. She could have easily done it but looks like she was just living a life of leisure with everything paid and done for her ( private cook, driver, cleaners, shoppers, household managers, nannies, etc). |
