Not dealing with COVID in all of that? It seems like it would be a concern with your immediate family member who has cancer, but what do I know? Over 900k people have died from COVID, so yeah that’s their family’s stress. |
Yes, that’s a small number. Annually 12,000 people in Maryland of heart disease, and another 3,000 from stroke. 10,000 die of cancer. 3,000 die in accidents. 2800 die of drug overdoses. 1400 Covid deaths in vaccinated people is low in the context of other risks and deaths. |
The 1409 was deaths for unvaccinated! |
My kids know dying is a natural part of life. It is troubling that you don’t seem to acknowledge that. |
In Maryland, 14,029 deaths from Covid total, of which 1434 were vaccinated. |
Midterms > variants. It is what it is. |
So you seem to acknowledge that Covid is an acceptable risk for most people. |
Many many serious cases of COVID, including death, with people who were not obese or had any underlying issues. Stop deluding yourself abour how this works. |
At this point it appears to be. Dr F has faded. UMC normies are ... doing what they do. Things are being memory holed. For now. |
I’ll take my chances. I have been done with this pandemic for a couple months now.
I’m fully vaccinated and had an asymptomatic positive. Done. My kids played sports the entire pandemic and never caught it. |
What is troubling is your non-sensical response. The pp is smug that older adults are dying because it solves a political problem. Societies are best with a mix of age ranges. It has nothing to do with acknowledging/denying death. It is ageist and will bite you in the ass if you’re lucky enough. |
Nobody cares about your story. |
What are you suggesting? After 2 years, people are finally beginning to treat Covid like a chronic, known risk as opposed to a new risk. It has been well-studied that people tend to exaggerate and overreact to new risks. Most people have moved on, recognizing that Covid isn't a uniquely severe risk to them. |
Let’s be real- societies are best with a mix of age ranges up to a point. After about 65-70 years old, the age group is a net drag on society. That’s not to say there aren’t some contributing members of society at that age, but their costs greatly outweigh their benefits. |
If numbers go up again, people will react accordingly. |
