Maybe the Ukranians deserve Putin after all.

So ... do you know how India has responded to this crisis?

Yep. They stayed neutral. Which makes sense, since Ukraine has historically not supported India, most recently on the Security Council seat.

Let me get this straight. You're comparing political positions to naked racism?

I know there's a lot of anti-India racism on DCUM, but this takes the cake.

Okay. Political positions are important to Ukrainians right now. Since people with some political positions are shelling them with bombs. And people with other political positions are sending them antitank weapons. It may seem strange here, but it's a bit different there.

After all, you just said maybe they deserve Putin. Because of your political position.

Nice gaslighting there. I said maybe they deserve Putin because of their racism.

What does that mean? You think Ukraine isn't a good enough country to be a sovereign country because there's racism there?

This is literally a lie. The separate checkpoints happened only because Ukrainians were stopping people of color from leaving and were trying to get people of color killed. The separate checkpoints how to be created to address the bloodthirstiness and racism of Ukrainians trying to get people of color killed in a time of war.

I really do hope that anyone justifying this finds themselves in a life and death situation and succumbs because other people set you up. You deserve to experience what you’re justifying.

DP

"Literally a lie?" No.

That LITERALLY makes no sense. Ukrainian border guards would have absolutely zero reason for stopping foreigners from leaving. If anything Polish border guards might want to prevent people from entering. But leave? No. No rationale whatsoever.

I really do hope that anyone earnestly believing nonsensical claims that do not hold up to even light scrutiny, and make no logical or rational sense get a clue some day.

The reason is racism, you white supremacist apologist dipshit. Have you heard of it before? It’s that feeling in your heart. Racism, you racist. Countless news reports and credible eyewitness accounts WITH VIDEO and you think you’re going to sit here and just pretend Ukrainians aren’t enforcing a racial apartheid in the middle of this war? Kick rocks!

AMEN, friend. Shocked at the racists in this thread.

Aww, look at you dodging the initial issue and trying to bait me into a corner. It would be almost cute, if it wasn't coming from someone who, in response to evidence of racism, used whataboutism as their first attack and compared India-Ukraine diplomatic relations to a criticism of racism on the ground in Ukraine.

DP. The world is full of people and nations who need help. A nation of hateful people in which white supremacists are in the mainstream isn’t where I choose to focus my concern. Feel about that however you will.

Honestly, this thread has convinced me to give up supporting Ukraine, and that's really sad because I liked their bravery.

Okay. You don't have to help Ukraine. You don't have to do anything at all.

It has convinced me of something else. YMMV

OK please post links to you vids (I have not seen).

I have seen innocent people being killed in Ukraine.

Presumably these international students from India and African nations were happy to be in the country prior to the war?

The US is assisting the Polish in processing refugees? Maybe you or the embassies of India etc should contact the US/Poland to work to facilitate the return of their citizens. don't hink their are any flights out of Ukraine.

+1 I am done with Ukraine.

This thread really opened my eyes. I was following news of the conflict avidly until now, cheering on their bravery, crying for their losses, worrying about them, looking for places to donate money to them, and seeing them as really heroic underdogs.

I had NO CLUE about the racism going on until I read this thread and googled the stuff reported on this thread. I'm shocked. I'm a woman of color and I feel sad and disgusted.

There are many other communities who need and deserve my attention, my energy, and my financial support. Not one more inch of that will be given to Ukraine.

Kick rocks, troll. You know how to Google. No one needs you to believe or acknowledge anything. The racist policies unfolding in Ukraine are internationally known at this point.

Funny, I see these pro-Russian posts and am more determined to do what I can for Ukraine.

Glad you don't have to worry about Ukrainians, Russia, and the wider threat anymore. That's nice for you.

'Diversity' is the magic word in the United States, but do realize - in many places of the world, the lack of diversity is actually a sign of no colonial past, which, I would say, is not something to hold against a country.

When you come down from whatever meds you’re abusing, try reading the thread. We know you really hate diversity and never miss a chance to rant about it, but you sound positively crazy thrashing at points no one has made.

A pp literally said "The fact that their demographics are overwhelmingly white should indicate that their immigration policies are aimed at keeping their country white." Completely ignoring Ukranian history which, as pp pointed out, does not include colonialism or a slave trade. It's incredibly American-centric to expect every European country to match the demographics of the US.

Americans are so brainwashed about diversity and have zero understanding of European history.

“Brainwashed” in what sense? That’s three major unsupported generalizations in one short sentence.

I’ll push this back on you. Why would pp expect Ukraine to be anything but overwhelmingly white? It’s their native population.

London was overwhelmingly white in the 1980s. It’s far more diverse now. Why? Shifts in immigration policy and a more inviting environment.

Ukraine, Poland, Russia, etc. remain overwhelmingly white. Why? No shift in immigration policy and no inviting environment.

Everyone realizes that unlike the US, Eastern Europe has been very white. It’s remained that way by design. While the rest of the world is mixing, some countries take great pain to prevent diversity.

^^^^
That’s the point.

Russia is literally trying to rebuild a Russian empire. A white, Russian-speaking empire.

Ukraine just joined the EU. If the country is not absorbed by Russia/forced to leave the EU it will likely become more diverse in the future.
