Be proud of Barnard.

You are incorrect. The diploma will reference both Barnard & Columbia.

My impression is that you are jealous.

Barnard students get the best of both worlds.

CORRECTION: I meant "upset"--not "jealous". Sorry.

So what I'm gathering from all this is that Barnard is some kind of Backdoor into Columbia? Akin to Harvard Extension?

Yes and no because Barnard College is much more difficult to gain an offer of admission.

No and no. Barnard was set up when Columbia and the rest of ivies were men only. When Columbia and ivies decided to go coed, Barnard was asked to join Columbia by shipping all their women to Columbia. Barnard refused, preferring to maintain its identity as women college of Columbia. Barnard was never a backdoor entrance to Columbia.

Harvard Extension doesn’t get you a Harvard College degree, and can only get a degree in extension students. Barnard students get BA from Columbia College.

So no, not the same at all. Sorry.

In the same way that Harvard Extension diplomas also say "Harvard."

Harvard Extension School degree: Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies. Not from Harvard College

Barnard degree: BA/BS from Columbia College

Agree with this. They are the same as this thread has demonstrated.

This is FALSE. A Barnard degree is from Barnard College, not from Columbia College.

Typical Barnard boosters trying to conflate the two.

President Bollinger himself, during commencement, specifically stated that Barnard is an "institution affiliated with Columbia." Barnard is an affiliate, and it's I think disingenuous for Barnard grads to claim that they're Columbia grads or that they're a part of the Ivy League. They're just... not.

Barnard and Columbia grads both get diplomas that say “BA” and Columbia College.” Not just “Columbia” but “Columbia College.” That’s what everyone else has patiently explained to you.

Your semantic games can’t change that. Neither will obfuscating by calling everyone else on this thread “boosters.”

Columbia College is a separate institution. You are truly dense and beyond help.

I had to open this finally to see why this merits a 22 page thread. I am still baffled.
