The building says "Barnard College of Columbia University." The diploma says "Barnard College of Columbia University." Barnard athletes compete in the Ivy League. However, my daughter was not particularly interested in Columbia and didn't consider or apply to the school, although it's great for some students. For her, the first choice was always Barnard which is where we are happy to say she attended. |
GS is GS, not Columbia!!! |
DC’s friend is going to Barnard and the parents keep talking about how their daughter going to an Ivy. It is embarrassing. No, it is not an Ivy. |
This! |
One more time. From the Columbia website FAQ: “Students in the School of General Studies take the same courses with the same faculty and undertake the same majors as all other undergraduates at Columbia.” |
I have no horse in this race, but GS is smartest - you get the degree and had more time to live a real life as opposed to mortgaging your youth for grades/test scores |
The 18 yo undergrads sit in classes with the older part-time students. Hard pass for me. |
What about NYU school of individualized study. Is that the same as NYU? |
Bryn Mawr is affiliated with Penn. It is basically like going to Penn. |
Everyone loves Barnyard in NYC! |
Columbia is a fine school on par with NYU and Emory. |
It is also on par with Northeastern. |
This. |
Embarrassing. |
They know where they go. They don’t need anyone to tell them. 🤣 |
