I posted something similar way upthread, that Davis and to a lesser extent SJP are too old to revive the cutesy schtick they relied on back in the day. |
PP is right. Lisa literally says she doesn't want to get an abortion. A miscarriage is totally realistic, this is not some covert abortion. You are really weird. |
Yeah. But they will keep being written this way! Lol. |
Maybe Aiden is upset because his absence gave his teen a known place to hang out and drink. If Aiden had been there he could have hidden the keys, or been a presence so the kid didn't drink etc. I agree if the dad lives locally is on a one week vacation and this kid does this saying he needs his dad, that would be a overreaction from the kid. However, your dad going from being local to MIA when he doesn't have custody is an adjustment and of course his kid acting out this way is causing guilt. The crying was very uncomfortable, but not as uncomfortable as Carrie saying for the first time she was afraid and trying to minimize Aiden's guilt, which was natural for an involved parent. Carrie stopped maturing at about the age of 24. |
| Fun fact: Nicole Ari Parker’s daughter, who was born with spina bifida, is starting at Howard this week. |

Just watched the latest episode. My fiancé and I were laughing so hard at Aiden’s crying scene. My gosh, that was terrible acting….completely unbelievable. I am in shock they aired that scene.
I also hated that Stanford ended up as a monk. That was unbelievable as well and just so incredibly stupid. I love the original girls though. They are absolutely fantastic. And I LOVED the part when Charlotte let her dog in the room. |

It was the usual American television cop out. Heaven forbid someone actually have an abortion. The second she said that she wouldn’t, I told myself, “Here comes the convenient miscarriage.” For how the real world works, watch the Canadian series, “Working Moms.” It’s wonderful on many levels. Ivan Reitman’s daughter created it and stars in it. |
Carrie had an abortion. Samantha had TWO abortions. Miranda came so close she was in the medical office. How many main characters in one fictional world need to have abortions to make you either: A) Understand that the women (and men like LTW’s husband) are pro-choice and seriously consider it to be an option, or B) Feel better about having yours? |
Actually, Nixon’s hit-or-miss as an actor. She’s good in original SATC, horrible in “The Gilded Age,” and was really bad in this guest starring role I recently saw of an old episode of “Law and Order: Criminal Intent.” I think she’s as she can be in AJLT with a terrible script based on terrible storylines the writing crew and producers sadly let her get away with heavily influencing. |
| I would have been better with Aiden’s crying scene if I didn’t have “country Lurch” stuck in my head when I looked at him. Legitimate lol for that line. |
She was great in a one off on ER and as Nicolle Wallace in Game Change. |
Wow, very impressive for the daughter with some health challenges to move to the opposite coast. I applaud her parents for supporting her, and hope she has a great time in DC! |
Miranda is moving in with Carrie Series finale - 10 years in the future; everyone is in their mid to late 60s. Harry dies, Charlotte moves in, Samantha moves back, they all live together in the fabulous four bedroom, ala modern Golden Girls. Rose --> Charlotte Blanche --> Samantha Dorothy --> Miranda Sofia --> Carrie |

Wasn't Kristin Davis on Melrose Place and she portrayed a psycho? Honestly I can't really remember but I *think* she was good in that role.
I don't think she's as good as the other actresses but I think her criticism has been overblown. I actually think it's a testament to her acting that on the original SATC, people didn't think she was acting- they just thought she was Charlotte. She's not. I don't think it's a role that lends itself to an Emmy or other Award. She's beautiful and looks like a Park Ave princess and we all know how to act prudish. Not meaty like Miranda or Samantha. |
