I know. He is aggressive and belligerent when sober! When speaking to the GOP hired prosecutor! When speaking with senators!

He should not drink alcohol at all. And no freaking way his wife didn't know he was a giant asshole.

Way overacted. There's no way you get through that many elite institutions without knowing how to control your feelings for a few hours. It was not at all believable, not one bit. Trump gave him stage directions "seem angry! defend yourself!" and he followed them.

You must be joking. His life has been torn apart. Of course he's angry and of course he's defending himself - as he should. I was heartbroken for him.

The committee got exactly what they deserved from his statement. This whole debacle has been truly disgusting.

Good. They should. There is NO reason why he should not be confirmed.

Don’t you find it odd that most women think he’s guilty but most men find him innocent?

Here’s my anecdote: DH believes her and thinks Kavanaugh is a mean drunk.

My DH knows Kavanaugh and dislikes him, which is why I said MOST instead of all.

Disliking someone doesn't mean they are a rapist. I am sure Brett dislikes your DH too.

Sadly BK will be on the SC and your DH will have a powerful enemy.

Omg that made me LOL! You clearly have no idea who we are. Lol.

What leg are most of you standing on? Can anyone honestly address that without some kind of name-calling?

What logic makes the calendar evidence but the medical records not?

It's interesting. Mostly everyone is seeing this through the lens of their own experiences. And Kavanaugh confirmed people's best and worst impressions of him in his emotional display.

Yep. He will be confirmed and this will go on. This guy is going to be worse than Clarence Thomas. He just ended up a warm body in a seat but Kavanaugh is going to be a warm body in a seat with a political cloud that goes on and on and completely destroys the reputation of the Supreme Court. But the Rephblicans got their warm body, so yay?

Yep. Good for him for coming to Kavanaugh's defense. The Democratic senators should be ashamed of the way they've treated this man.

I’m a woman and I know he’s innocent. Same with my best friend. And, several others.
I was at a function earlier this evening. Everyone, without exception, was disgusted by the behavior of the Dems. Everyone there was talking about it.

Cool story, bro. Every woman I know - including GOP women - believes Ford and thinks Kavanaugh is a total douche and has anger issues.

In general, we want our Supreme Court justices to be apolitical. Not partisan. I guess Kavanaugh didn't get the memo.

A dem in 2020 is going to run on the basis of promising to pack the court if he or she wins and has a dem senate.

It’ll be a way to get to the left of the crowded field

I believe fully and wholeheartedly she is lying.

Well she did lie about flying. Supposedly she didn’t want to come to DC because she would have to fly. Turns out she flew to DC in the summer to see family in Rehoboth and has flown to many destinations around the world

I completely believe the assault occurred, but she has no evidence of who did it. The fact that she fell apart for the remainder of high school and two years of college never raised her parents concern or that of a Holton-Arms Arms counselor. People of her SES would have had her at a shrink.

I know - why??

you are applying current UMC parenting from now to back then. Back then no one was dxed with anxiety. Parents didn't take kids to a shrink for falling grades. That was the 80s. Very different time.

Disagree, op. I’m the same age, went to a mediocre public high school in flyover country and that was not my experience. It was the 1980s, not the 1890s.

I posted that. I was in high school in the late 80s and early 90s. I live in a UMC community now and know so many kids who have therapists now. Lots of kids with anxiety, kids cutting. Most parents did not want to think their kids had mental health problems back then (some still don't).

Honestly, the GOP PPs today have sounded like their drunk or stupid.

If BK truly believes he didn't do anything wrong, why was his defense a petulant self righteous tantrum, instead of something that could actually show innocence, like I don't know, an actual investigation, or even just counter her polygraph with one of his own? It's not a good look to yell and cry when you could actually do something to show you're right.

And yet the woman is criticized for taking a polygraph and requesting an investigation? Why? What would either of those hurt, if he's truly innocent? One would think he would want that too, if he's truly got nothing to hide. With as much indignation and emotion as is going into republicans screaming "democrats are liars! women are liars!", why not actually DO something that could show they're right in this instance?

It's not a good look.

Perspective at another event completely opposite. Depends on who you hang/work with...
