He said he's focusing on a governing pick rather than a political pick.

Hence, Whitmer.

Or Bass or Warren or Baldwin.

Gretchen Whitmer must believe she's still very much in the running because this morning, day after primary, she had a live press conference to announce racism is a public health crisis.

She already did a race-related executive order after George Floyd's death, interesting she's doing another one now. I think Biden really likes and trusts her, wouldn't surprise me. Her Lt gov is African American, would be pretty cool if he could become gov.

She likes to hear herself talk and see herself on camera. If racism is a crisis, she should step aside and give a black woman a chance. She can continue her personal war with that barber. Who knows when he might start cutting hair again?

Bass and Baldwin have no governing skills to speak of. It will be Whitmer (or Lujan or Gina R.).

Please, no. I’ll still vote for him though.

He doesn’t need to worry about California voters or progressives. He needs to focus on the swing voters in the swing states. He needs to give the fence sitters a reason to vote for him. There are a lot of voters that normally vote Republican that for the first time in their life might vote Democrat. He needs these swing voters. Everyone else in the party will vote for him anyway.

I hope so. She is by far the smartest and the most capable of handling the Presidency of any of the candidates. No need to get her up to speed on addressing the pandemic (she helped write the playbook and is leading DC’s response) or on foreign issues.

Of he needs to drive AA turnout, which could make the difference in swing states like MI, OH, PA, FL. He may have to pick one strategy.

Or Plan C, keep letting Trump embarrass himself so much that Republicans either do not vote or vote for the lesser evil.

This happened to some degree in 2016. People did not vote Trump but they did not vote for HRC either. Biden needs to swings those votes and get them to check his name on that ballot.

I think this reeks of VP smoke.
