I tried to find the report on this but couldn't. Closest thing was an interview clip where he was asked what the last ordinary thing he did was and he said he bought a furnace filter. It doesn't matter but it is kind of funny, both getting the Bestair brand and fox digging through his garbage.

But if he doesn't own a house is he buying a filter for the gov mansion? Is that something the gov has to pay for himself? And how easy is it to access the trash?

Walz was not just the junior varsity coach, but he was the linebacker coach and defensive coordinator for the varsity team. Head coach, Ron Sutton, praises Walz as a great coach and a valuable part of his team.

I actually think that being the defensive coordinator is actually a plus for him running as Vice President. It shows that he is a good team player and he is an excellent supporting leader. Being defensive coach with high praise from your head coach is much like showing that he would be a great vice president, supporting his president in all that she does. He has leadership skills and is a successful supporting leader. Win-Win.

IMO, he epitomizes the All American guy -- military service, teacher, coach (multiple teams that he lead to championships), grew up on a farm, child of teachers; unassuming, yet ready to lend a helping hand.

When I found out that he had called around the school district to pick up extra jobs to pay for kids lunches, I was so touched. I often went hungry at school when I was in ES (I now make six figures and have a HHI NW of $4mil+).

Being a coach, he knows how to energize people, motivate them to be and do their best. He is what the US and the world needs right now - a man of compassion, and true leadership.

Every year at the end of the school year, I call the company that administers our lunch program and have them transfer the balance of our two accounts (down to $5 which keeps the accounts throughout the summer) to help pay off accounts that are in arrears (e.g. accounts that have negative balances). At the start of the school year, I top the accounts off again. I'm not positive, but I think a few years ago, the cordinator told me that they usually start with accounts have have had a negative balance for the longest time, but it's been a few years, and our school changed lunch account vendors, so not sure whether this is or ever was true or if it was wishful thinking on my part.

I'm the first PP. This is a great idea. My youngest is now a junior in HS, and they rarely eat school lunches, but I have money in the account just in case. Once DC graduates, I'll also tell them to use that money to pay off the largest and longest in arrears.
