It's just one clown trying to be contrarian. I gave up answering him seriously a while ago. Thanks for the back up on my points though. |
“Word on the street”? How about Battlefield confirms this - I’m *sure* that both girls and their families were respectful of the team and coaches to let them know in an appropriate manner. ![]() |
Oakton is a one and done team, early prediction, they will finish just infront of chantilly. They just don’t have the talent next year at all and COY chose not to develop a good majority of the players except his starters. That philosophy will come back to bite oakton next year.
This is probably one of the longest petty threads on this board. |
So these players are transferring into BI who has no coach? |
Is the BF coach going to BI too? She would be great. |
Oh… was it mentioned that Oakton won the State Championship… this year… next year is next year and a lot can and will happen!
Go Cougars! If you have a daughter coming back next year, you should as always develop them yourself as a high school coach only gets them for a small portion of their career. Club teams, playing year round, wall ball, throwing and catching with other teammates… if you are using an excuse it’s the high school coaches that didn’t develop your daughter then they have has lost already. Playing club with talented players and being individually responsible for self development! Please look in the mirror and not play the victim…Oakton needs them to push themselves! |
Madison and Oakton by far had the strongest JV teams in the Concorde. Several of the JV girls for both teams would be on the Varsity roster at most high schools. Next up was South Lakes and Centreville. Westfield and Chantilly at the bottom but all six teams with promising future players and a lot can happen in the off-season. |
You really don’t know what you’re talking about. A lot of younger players contributed to Oakton’s championship season…and even the team’s a two freshmen got some valuable playoff experience. Oakton has at least several young high ceiling players who can get recruited by D1 schools if they put in the effort during the off season. I can’t predict how Oakton will do next season because, as with every other public school (including perennial runner up Battlefield), it depends largely on how players develop in the offseason. |
If there’s room on the regular schedule to play schools like New Trier, Potomac, Bullis and SSAS because you want to tell the world you’re playing “tough competition,” then there’s room on the reg sched to replace those teams with WaPo top tens such as GC, PVI, SR, SJC and Visi. You won’t because you know you’ll lose (and if you’re Oakton that will mean getting bounced from the top ten list, and if you’re Madison you won’t make it.). |
Go back to your own board you rich private school tool. Just because you forked out $$$ for little Sally to play on a crappy lacrosse team doesn’t mean you can come here and put publics down. Make better life choices so you can be happier. |
Can’t claim on one hand you’re playing a hard schedule when you selectively play certain privates but won’t play the toughest teams (and resort to lashing out like this.) |
Nothing to do with Oakton but I can smell a loser troll who hates their life choices like you….feel bad for your daughter. Hopefully she won’t grow up to your sad life. |
Hey bud, since when is SSAS not top competition? Most years they are top 10 or 20 nationally and they beat SE. New Trier is top 25 nationally, ranked higher than most of the schools you mentioned. |
I’m quite comfortable posting here, thanks all the same. Why do you always make this about public vs private and layer on a healthy dose of ad hominem attacks?Disappointed by it as the public schools my kid attended encouraged diversity of thought. You don’t know anything about me or why we made the decision to go private for high school. If you did you’d know my kid was getting bullied in public middle school and needed to switch to avoid an extremely difficult situation that was destroying my child’s mental health from continuing in high school. Back to the real matter at hand. Encourage your coach to schedule the toughest teams in the DMV next year. Then let’s see how you do and debate the results here. |
But you didn’t play New Trier, and even if you did and lost it wouldn’t impact a WaPo top ten list ranking. Replace Bullis and Potomac with two of the following for the regular season: GC, PVI, SR, SJC, Visi. If you win you can shout from the mountaintop that you played and beat the region’s best. |
