I said without strings. Charles will probably be King in ten years but all that money will be tied to the sovereign grant, used for upkeep of a broad array of relatives (Queens three other kids, their 6 or so grandkids, the great-grandkids and the cousins like the Gloucester’s) and expected to be passed down to further generations.

Why are you even comparing the two? It wasn't Kate's "birthday walk" as in an official event. She has friends stay with them the weekend of her bday and they go to church together. It's not an official event.
