MAGA teen bused in from a Catholic school harasses Indigenous People's marcher. Vile.

what do you think that video shows?

Agreed
What I do not understand is why the youths thought they could mock an elderly man in the first place.
Perhaps the fancy private Catholic school doesn't teach history. Even if that is so, it is common decency to treat random strangers on the street with respect.

I am shocked by this video, everyone should be too.

I am a pretty hardcore liberal, non-Trump supporter, feminist, etc. When I watched the initial video and read the story I was disgusted. However, I couldn’t hear any taunts or “build the wall” chants, so I looked for other videos. I don’t agree with bringing kids to political events they don’t fully understand (and I’m strongly pro-choice), and I think the MAGA hats are distasteful. However, looking at longer videos, it does look like The NA group was hoping to make a scene. They did approach the kids - maybe they wanted to go through, but there are clearly uncrowded areas of the steps. Watching the longer videos, I do think the kid in front of him doesn’t know what to do; I think he’s uncomfortable. In the mirror video from the other protest group (Nation of Islam maybe)? The commentary suggests that both groups were looking for a photo op with the MAGA hats. After the confrontation with the NA protestors, the black protestors suggest they will be school shooters among other lovely messages, but the kids don’t really engage.

There are numerous reasons to dislike Coventry, based on details that have emerged, but I do think it’s worth trying to figure out the full picture of what happened here. Mainly because I think even my gut reaction is to assume the worst, which only furthers the conservatives narrative against liberals. I don’t support trump, question the intelligence of many who do, but Itsnalso hypocritical to suggest conservatives should question their media if we don’t as well.

You haven't spent a lot of time around teenagers, have you?

Phillip Nathan was walking at an even pace. It would have been easy for the kids to ignore him and move away. But they chose to engage. The man did not ask them to do that.

No other native men progressed forward into the MAGA crowd. The 2 crowds were at the edge of the other. Phillips wasn’t going anywhere except into the boy’s face to chant and beat his drum. It’s clear from the video.

He was going to the Lincoln memorial to finsisb his song. You apologists seem to love repeating that he was besting his drum as if to insinuate that is menacing thng for someone enacting a traditional performance. Why didn’t the boys make way for him to pass? Would have been the easy and respectful thing to do.

This video shows the exact moment the native man approached the group of boys. HE WAS NOT TRYING TO LEAVE!

Isn't it interesting how one more perspective can show the truth?

This 9 minute video shows the truth.

The group harrassing people was a group of black men preaching about the sin of homosexuality and the white catholic boys did not harass them in any way.

Oh and the kids were chanting their school chant. Nothing about the wall.

The kids also are SHOCKED when the black men start screaming about sodomy but don’t harass anyone.

A group of boys who had been properly taught to respect Native American heritage would not have behaved like that when an older Native American came toward them in the midst of a traditional performance. And their teachers/parents/chaperones should have shushed them and moved them away.

Also that boy who stood defiantly in front of him staring at him with a smirk without moving is the very embodiment of a failed Catholic education. Where is the humility and concern for humanity that is supposedly a core of Catholic teaching? Not a drop in sight.

You are crazy. The boys were there for their own protected right to support and/or protest for their beliefs. They don’t have to move out of the way and be quiet because another person with a drum gets in their faces.

Nobody has a single video of the boys chanting build the wall?

That video does not do what you think it does.

Certainly doesn’t make those students look any more altar-boy-like.

What beliefs would those be, that they are superior to this old American Indian?

What were they doing wrong? Cheering, dancing, laughing, etc? They were supposed to go to DC and stand silently like altar boys and move quickly out of the way of anyone who approached them?

I am not even Catholic and I see people here attacking these kids just because they are Catholic. They did nothing wrong at all.

Right to life? They are allowed to support that and they don’t have to stop breathing and hush and move out of anyone’s way.

The native man is not superior to them nor they him. Equal. Both have exact same rights. But somehow when he APPROACHED them they all had to move and fall silent? Insanity.

The people defending this are probably rape apologists too and very upset about the Gillette commercial.
