Private & Independent Schools

Despite all of the cheap shots, false rumors, etc. on this web site by people who simply don't have anything else better to do with their lives, there is a new WES video on the web site that I think captures what the school is really all about. This certainly is much closer to the experience we're having with our kids than what some people post on this web site.

| They may produce nice marketing videos, but we had a very bad experience at WES with a really scary teacher. That is a fact. |
| Better to spend the money on qualified teachers. |
| I think the bottom line is that there are many people who have had a bad experience at WES and others who like it; and never the twain shall meet. We are one of the families that left and are much happier at another school. |
We left another private school and came to WES and were much happier and see our children growing and learning. So I guess it is really a matter of finding a good fit fit your child or children. Have not run into any scary teachers yet to the overly dramatic pp. Sometimes it seems like if the teacher demands obedience in the class nowadays, some parents cannot handle that their child should have a little discipline, as there never is any at home. |
| Two posts have gone missing on this thread -- is WES having it edited? |
This is an actively moderated site. I know that on most occasions when I flag a post (on any number of threads) as potentially defamatory or even just unfair or overly intrusive to a private individual, the moderators take action (there's a "report" button on posts and they definitely read the reports even if they don't always delete posts). I'm not a school admin -- DCUM is sort of a gulty pleasure for me, like "People" magazine -- but I do feel strongly about the unfairness of going after individual people anonymously so I'm a relatively frequent reporter, and I think there are others who share my views. So, I would assume one of the WES parents or supporters who thinks some of this thread has gone over the line reported posts and they were deleted. |
Is it any surprise? If half of what is on this site is true, it makes sense they are editing the site. I would say the editing confirms the truth of some of it. Decreasing enrollment, fewer classes, a chaplain who isn't really ordained, no current head. Not looking good WES! |

Oh my! If this thread was edited as you and the other poster suggested, then it would have nothing negative about WES. The messages that were deleted used offensive language about another poster. Also try to put in factual information. You are misleading people. You may not like WES, and you are entitled to your opinion, and of course this is a venue to discuss. But what you are trying to do is to purposefully badmouth the school. WES has not hired a new chaplain yet, there is a pretty successful interim head who is well-liked by the WES community, etc. Don't make it sound like things are out of control. Whenever I come back to read the posts on this thread, it seems like there are a handful of people who are trying to make sure to counter any positive post by at least 3-4 negative posts. The majority of these negative posts do not have much content anyway. I wonder if this would've been the case if anonymous posting was not possible... |
+1 I like the analogy --- "People"

missing your daily dose of negativity dear? Check your facts before posting. All the things you mention are still in the thread. |
You guys actually think that WES has control of DCUM??? That's hilarious.
|
| WES also doesn't have control over their school. Mean teachers much??? |
