WES Head of School resigns

Anonymous
WES is down approximately 75 seats. That's conservative.

I think the purpose of the forum is to discuss the pros and cons of a school. If someone posts their opinion and it's negative, they are entitled to their opinion.

I also agree that this is not the place to be talking about individuals on this site.

Not when they hide behind this forum and attack people directly. I suppose if some decided to mention you or a family member in this way, you would be okay with it because it is their opinion even if they did not have the correct facts.

How do you know this? If true, that number is staggering.

They got their information from a bubble gum wrapper.

Treat the families you have with respect because they are paying customers and you actually need them. If you don't treat them well, they have many options in this area. Treat all families well -- none of this playing favorites baloney. WES rolls out the red carpet to applicants, then practically dares you to leave once you are there and at their mercy. Now they are worried about enrollment? Cry me a river!

I agree with everything you said. The ES head has been nasty to me. She hasn't gotten the memo that Parents are customers and have a right to ask questions about curriculum. Our family will not put up with her nonsense. I will not be writting anymore checks to WES.

Anonymous wrote:I really think this is what happens when these Head searches look nationally. You can end up with a head whose family lives in another state and so they don't ever really commit to the school and the job and they look back toward home. Same thing happened at Burke. Why don't these schools promote from within enabling someone who is obviously already committed to the school to really do a great job? It is short sighted.

because by promoting from within you promote to the point where one becomes incompetent. In other words, want a good head of School, hire one.

Again, please stop trashing people in this anonymous forum. This is a person you are talking about. I understand you did not get along with her but to join this forum and bash individual people is not okay. The last unacceptable rant like this was taken off the site. I am not sure if it was you but hopefully you can learn how to articulate a your feelings/opinions without calling out individuals who can not defend themselves (nor should have to).

I was given enrollment information from a WES staffer. It's accurate.

Individuals aside, the curriculum really needs updating.

Do you think the curriculum is outdated and rigid? Too much "busy work?"

As a PP said, that number is very staggering if it is true.

And could explain why they haven't advertised for all of the positions vacated at the end of the year.
