What sort of scene do you refer to at other independent schools , PP?

In fact, WES is not a joke. As a current parent, I take offense to this given that WES has provided an incredible education for both of my children but without "the scene" you find at so many other independent schools in our area. Head changes happen all of the time at schools all over the country. It's normal. I feel very confident this head change won't diminish what WES offers because it's the teachers and the curriculum that have made such a positive impact on my kids.

PP: No need to respond to such inflammatory messages in my opinion. Clearly he/she has some issues...

I wonder if that is the same sockpuppet who was caught red-handed asking questions questions and responding and pretending to be different poster about Kirk Duncan 2-3 months ago.

For those interested please refer to the following thread and read the final message by the DCUM administrator: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/355861.page

Middle School Director Nancy Wright has agreed to serve as the interim Head.

It was very nice to see him in the morning. He would greet my DS by first name. We will miss him.

This is the norm at every private our kids have ever attended . . .

What is the norm at every private school your children have attended? A short termed Head of School, the Middle School Head being an Interim Head or the carpool custom greeting?

Look at what she bolded, Einstein!

Well, since we actually attended WES, I would have to say all three plus an additional short-termed weak headmaster. I laughed when I read about the board member's kid getting the third king position in the Christmas production. Is that preferential crap really still going on? One of my friends (not on parent board) was SO pissed that her son wasn't selected to be the third king. We left. Too insane.

The school needs to recruit Board members who are not WES parents. As long as the board is dysfunctional it's more of the same failures.

Yes -- it's the same old story with the Board Members' kids and preferential treatment -- they are chosen to be the kings, they are always the winners of the various competitions, and they can be seen in the front row of the productions (other kids are hidden behind a giant tuba in the back).

and playing violins for the parents as they arrive for an event.

We clearly have the same anti-WES troll here stirring the pot with multiple posts responding to himself/herself saying the same thing and using the exact same language as the other thread that was shut down by the DCUM administrator. Whoever contacted Jeff on the last thread should do so again.

This is a public forum. Maybe people have legitimate pro/con comments about WES. Notice this happens with other schools and other threads.

Although there was one sock puppet, I think there are in fact many people who have been unhappy with WES and have made valid posts. We left the school a few years ago.

I agree that this is a public forum but it is also an anonymous one. One person could post multiple times which is fine but that person could pretend to be different voices which is not. A casual reader may wrongly conclude there are significant issues with the school where there is none. Without a proper sign in mechanism through e-mail or facebook accounts to identify users/posters, the information content of these posts in the threads should be taken with a grain of salt.

On the other hand this forum is a good outlet for anybody to "vent" be it their frustrations or insecurities or rarely to provide constructive criticism.

You have to register in order to use DCUM and you can sometimes be identified thru your IP. Just because there are different opinions and different "voices" and people who post more than once--you can't cry TROLL each time you read a post you don't like.
