It's collapsing slowly. They are going to push everything into that new Ultimate |
Ultimate director is trying to move in on M&D practice territory. Ballsy. Have fun trying to establish a new club in Baltimore!!! |
Doesn't mean they will all make Capital Blue. They still need to fill Orange. |

Right now, my understanding is that the 2030 landscape in the DC area will look something like this:
Capital Blue Capital Orange 3D VA M&D DC MD United Pride NoVA YJ DMV YJ VA I have heard that 3D is forming a 2030 team. At the same time, I think Pride ultimately fields just one team, and I don't think Stars will survive as a standalone 2030 club team. If those assumptions are correct, the market ends up right back at eight teams. Using simple math, if each team carries approximately 22 players, that's a total player pool of 176 athletes. Assuming average annual club fees of around $3,600, that's more than $630,000 flowing through the 2030 age group alone. Capital will field two teams and account for 44 roster spots. That leaves approximately 132 players to fill the remaining six teams, which works out to an average of 22 players per roster. Based on comments in this thread and conversations I've had, it sounds like a significant number of families are exploring other options this summer. If that's true, there could be a lot of player movement before rosters settle. To me, the most interesting question isn't whether the remaining clubs can field teams. The math suggests they can. The question is which club will emerge with the strongest roster after Capital takes 44 players out of the market. Will it be 3D VA, M&D DC, MD United, Pride NoVA, YJ DMV, or YJ VA? My guess is that one of those clubs will separate itself from the pack and become the strongest non-Capital team in the area. Anyone care to speculate? |
I mean it's gotta be the best club ever. All female staff and no parent coaches!! |
You have heard wrong. Pride NOVA 2030s are mostly leaving for either 3D or STARS. Pride Loudon 2030s are all headed to STARs. It's possible that Pride will still provide a landing space for anyone looking for a home, but STARs will definitely have a 2030 team given what I've heard. |

Good for Stars and not so good for Pride.
If Stars and Pride both survive we will have 132 players spread out over seven teams instead of six.
|
| Figuring out where the best who don’t make capital are going should be every parent’s goal. Good kids who go to good programs have played on that team (wherever it is) over the years. |
|
If rumor is true, Pride Nova breakup with most trying for 3D and now stars? Loudoun would go Cap or stars? What about the stars itself? Some will go Cap but I can see rest remains?
MD Dc would get some from YJDMV and others? I could see them one of the top non Caps. |
| BLC 2030 Blue will all go Capital blue or orange due to their partner$hip with Capital and extra cap academy premier $ponsors$hip. Call it a draw - 8-10 go capital blue and 8-10 go capital orange. Both solid options! The few remaining roster spots filled by other local clubs. Good luck! |
The program that thinks they are getting the most slots is always disappointed. |
Guess we will all find out soon! |
Would that be the Capital program or the BLC program being disappointed? Capital has the demand… BLC…? TBD! |
| Are spectators allowed for Capital tryouts? |
