Anonymous wrote:My daughter made blue, I think we know more than half the team right now. Offer came by email at 11pm last night. Lots of BLC players, some YJ and stars, definitely including a few mediocre head scratchers. We also know a bunch of girls who got shut out completely who we would have thought of as blue contenders. Some strange decisions for sure

Also received a blue offer. Real head scratcher is an understatement. Know most of these players and something seems off.

Everyone has focused on club affiliation to make predictions on Blue make-up. However, HS affiliation may be playing a key role and leading to some of the head scratcher decisions. Look at who is coaching the Blue team, and you could easily see a big number of Saints girls selected. JB also seems to be throwing her weight around a bit with an increasing number of NCS girls selected. Would not be surprised to see some upcoming 29 Blue changes based on High School affiliation as well.

despite the perception the HS coach does not have much influence with these schools. Does not know newer, younger coaches.

who is coaching the blue team??

Kathy Jenkins

That’s a new rumor.

Facts.. KJ/BL coaching blue
Branden Cullinan and Abby Wok Orange

Wow! If you haven’t played for KJ before you’re in for a treat. Get mind over talent on speed dial

Will add, from a different age group. If you are not a Saint, good luck with playing time. Capital is moving away from equal playing time btw.

But only two saints girls made Blue 2030, right?
A bunch made Orange?

I thought Capital was always equal playing time. Isn't that the appeal?

If I did not make capital, I would go to Stars or Cavlax.

I agree. Stars 27s had a decent recruiting outcome and there were a few that were pulled up to Capital after 9th. Not sure if that will continue with KJ retired. But the new director seems to also have ties with Capital as well. And the end of the day, the biggest factor is getting all the best girls on one team and the parents working to get their girls visibility.

This is crazy talk. KJ hasn’t retired and she’s the current Stars 2030 coach until July. The new director thinks Stars kids should stay at Stars. His kid didn’t play for Cap.

His kid did play for capital for a hot minute and then they left.

That’s not my understanding. Similar number of both.

It doesn't really matter what schools they come from, but half are from Virginia schools on blue.

Can confirm a small majority are from VA.
