38F - OLD apps: not getting any matches

I think this is it. Most men aren't looking to date to have children, unless he is very religious. Most men may think at some point they might have a family as just some nebulous thought, but that's not top of mind when they are looking at OLD profiles.

Man, I'm glad I'm older and married already.

-5'0 woman married to a 6'2" man with two kids who are 6' M and 5'6" F. I guess there would've been no hope for me on OLD.

I wasn't looking for someone this tall, btw. It just happened. I did date men who were from 5'7 to DH's height.

I guess they are paying for sex then, or using Handy Mandy, or having sex with each other?

About 57% of the men in the US are at least 5'9", but when you add in your other reuqirements (education), that % will go down a lot. Only about 36% of men in their 30s' in the US have a college degree.. so those 2 requirements alone reduces you to about 20% of the male dating pool.

Oh and by comparison, only 6% of women in the US are 5'0" or shorter.

So.. you're in the bottom 6% height-wise, and searching for a man who is stastically rare.

I thought men like short women?

Hahhah.. keep telling yourself that. Any man who is marriage-minded will be thinking does he want his kid to be the short kid at school and made fun of, espcially if it's a boy. Imagine if he grows up and is a mere 5'7. That' below your requirements for example.

Huh? Men have neither the forethought (to be concerned with what their offspring will look like) nor are they thinking that far ahead. Are you a short guy or a trad wife? Next you are going to say they are looking for child baring hips.

It’s always going to come down to if you are hot or cute. Second most important, don’t be a psycho.

+1 most men just don't think that far ahead.

Third, must like sex - that could actually be second, depending on how psycho the woman is.

I found my husband on the apps and I’m a short brunette and he is 6’3”, fit, has a good job and a degree, and wanted kids. Guess I beat all odds because men like that hate short women?

Agree. No man thinks that far ahead to future children.

Do not talk about how badly you want kids or the fact that you’re divorced on the apps.

You are asking way too much lady. You are old almost 40. You don't make enough money not even $150k (if you were a man every single woman here would say you were broke AF, so yeah it applies to women as well). And you are looking for a guy at least 5'9, please lower it to 5'6.

I'm sorry I come across as harsh. Read it every slowly. This is exactly how women here respond to men with a profile similar to yours.

Aren't women the prize? I don't think it matters how much they made, how old they are. Men are the ones who have to worry about that.

Attractiveness and age matter a ton. How much salary matters depends on the previous factors.

Hahaha to “I’m not competing with 25 year olds.” I can’t read any further.

I'm taller than you at 5'3. And I would date a man that's 5'5 at least. My hubby is 5'8.

Same. My 5’7” DH is handsome, graduated from a top law school, makes high 6 figures and is an amazing dad.

Woman here. Can we all agree that that was a stupid statement? I know MANY short women with tall husbands.

I’m short and am friends with the two 5’7” men and actually like them a lot, in a romantic sense. Both of them are quite insecure about their height and bring it up in the conversations a lot. As they haven’t taken any initiative with me, I started dating a 5’11” man. He never talks about his height, and he is athletic and handsome but bald and is insecure about that and brings up hair in the conversations a lot.
