Well, you’d be wrong if you don’t think there are paid social media out there for candidates. And this forum is mostly dead. Most threads get 20 or so responses at most. This has 10 times that |
Yes, on Twitter and Instagram and social media websites not focused on Washington DC….. There are lots of responses because someone writes “what about Cuomo” hourly while others discuss the policy nuances of his and Adams’ platforms. |
In the national media, the Republicans are licking their chops at the likelihood of Mamdani getting elected. He feeds perfectly into their narrative. So when we get stuck with a Republican Congress again in 2026, enabling Trump to continue to destroy this country, tell me whether the city-run super markets and rent freezes are truly worth it.
Mamdani and AOC are the gift that keeps on giving for Fox News and Republicans. I appreciate their idealism but they have to be realistic and know when to STFU. |
Exactly. His supporters will say that scaring moderates and swing voters is worth it, that only anti-Muslim bigotry and being in the tank with Billionaires can make someone oppose Mamdani. They don’t understand the stakes. |
Please link to where someone is saying ‘what about Cuomo’ hourly? |
So that’s your next move? Saying not only will this mayor ruin NYC, he will also ensure total annihilation of all Dems across the country? Did that talking point survey well for you? Ya’ll are so damned obvious. And still not actually from NY *C*. |
So you're from NYC because you're pro-Mamdani, and anyone anti-Mamdani is not actually from NYC? Huh? |
I've provided plenty of proof I'm from NYC. You have done nothing. I think the whole argument is pathetic and childish and sad, but I played along. Where do you live? Where do your kids (if you even have any) go to school? If private, what public are you zoned for? Favorite local pizza spot? Favorite host on NY1 (you probably have no idea what I'm talking about since you don't live here)? |
Someone living on the UES in high finance who went to St. B’s and then Deerfield has no idea what public they are zoned for, may not like pizza, and will never watch NY1 or know a host’s face and name. Go back to Ohio/Wisconsin and tell your extended family how great chopped cheese is to pretend to be cosmopolitan (lol!). |
It’s a funny stance, because so many Mamdani voters are from flyover states and escaped to NY to avoid the Trump politics they are inadvertently fueling. Long term residents from the outer boroughs of all races and creeds voted for Cuomo |
It’s pretty obvious some swing voter from the Detroit or Pittsburgh or Tampa suburbs wouldn’t like Mamdani and view him as threatening. Imagine if MTG was voted Governor of Georgia, beating Kemp and other establishment figures in the primary. The DNC would have every reason to make her the poster child of the GOP and swing voters would rightfully be repulsed. |
You are going to die on this hill, aren't you? So sad. If you live in NYC, it is the far reaches of Staten Island in the middle of a landfill. Not sure why I am wasting my time with ignorant, low class trash who gets their jollies out of saying people don't live where they say they do. And if they are so confident, they refuse to say a word about where they do live. Ashamed to live in a landfill? Or do you live in your mom's basement in Alabama? |
People on SI don’t know what the B in St. B’s stands for. I don’t hold it against them. You are the one repeatedly saying other posters don’t live in the city. I was born here and have lived here for over 40 years. Living in the city isn’t an accomplishment, a personality, or anything to write home about. It’s banal and just a place that meets my career and family needs. It isn’t particularly interesting or noteworthy, hence I don’t understand the hang up. I write a lot here about private school choices and real estate. It is interesting you have a vocal and low opinion of SI and Alabama. Their residents have every reason to disdain Mamdani and many of his supporters who share your views. They work, eat, go to the john, and get by like everyone else (including lifelong Manhattanites who went to Buckley-St. Grottlesex and have 4,000+ sf lofts in Tribeca, it is not something I’d share except you keep demanding doxing information). |
Yep, it's just the Bernie Bros redux. |
Agreed. He’s offensive and needlessly personal. He has gone page after page saying no one else here lives in NY and that they’re anti Muslim bigots for supporting Cuomo or Adams. With the smallest pushback, he lashes out against particular boroughs and wide swathes of people. It’s bizarre. |
