They said MEN, stupid. No wonder your child sucks. You’re an idiot and they’ve inherited your dumb genes. |
They don't aspire to be SAHMs, probably won't even aspire to be Ms. Where does this mythology come from? Neither of my grandmother's were SAHMs. They were limited in career options, but worked outside of the home. My kids would have to go back 4 generations to find such a role model. Even those would turn out to be farm workers whose young kids had more responsibility than today. |
+1 In my experience the standards for women for behavior and responsibility are significantly higher. |
Mythology? Have you not seen the countless threads just on this site extolling SAHMs and how they are “doing what’s best for their families”? Do you not think this reflects a social trend that influences young girls? |
What expectation? That’s never been mine or anyone I know. People in this area are crazy and it shows in their kids and their anxiety. Chill out and you’ll see that your kids will have plenty of great college choices. |
No, and what girls are reading that? Anonymous posts are not a sample, 75% of women of prime age are in the workforce. That number is higher in the DCUM demographic. There is no downward trend. |
The role of SAHM is now only for the very wealthy. |

Two reasons
The traditional college is antiquated dead man walking Boys are not with the woke program and are checking out. It’s kind of like society suicide |
Yes this battle liberals have with Mother Nature has created a massive drop in fertility. Many families will see their genetic line end. |
| Who cares? It's time for women to be in charge of everything. We're better, smarter and work harder. |
Bingo. |
There tend to be more men with extremely high IQ than women with extremely high IQ (there are also more men with extremely low IQ than women with extremely low IQ). |
I didn't find this to be the case at my two schools that everyone on DCUM loves to slobber over. There was a high end group of boys that did slightly better. But it was relatively small. Women were impressive as well. It was not a contest between genders. At these highly competitive places, you need to apply an "edge". Men and women may have gone about it differently, but the edge was still there. And it transcended politics and various life experiences. The real problem is with the ones not seeking higher education or engaging in life after high school. I know some very bright and accomplished mothers of sons and who would not agree with your opinion. And they likely vastly outnumber you. |
| Political views of young men and young women have diverged in recent years, while many campuses have grown increasingly left-wing and less tolerant of diverging views. While anyone can probably do me their group at a large college, at SLACs I imagine it would be pretty grim. (Before any progressives object, just imagine if it were the other way around.) |
Is this because guys are lazy and don't have resumes so all they have to show is a stupid multiple choice test? |
