Boys are smarter than girls in science, math, and engineering. Girls need affirmative action to even get in. Any top program that is not 70%+ male is not using intelligence for admissions.

And it's crazy how women blame schools and parents for "lack of interest in STEM" when any parent with a son knows that boys in K-12 have been ignored for the past 20 years because parents and teachers with daughters have argued that girls are snowflakes who need to be doted upon in class because they can't learn math or science, otherwise. Woke whites always be name calling, blaming others, and making excuses—and then asking for female affirmative action and girls program this and girls scholarship that. Yet, Asian girls don't seem to be lacking but obviously it's because they test prep, right? So they're not allowed to get the white affirmative action... tsk tsk

Folks on this thread are taking about UMC families where all the boys are still going to college. A school like Whitman still has 93% of grads going to college which is as high as it has ever been.

The MC boys that aren’t pursuing college were never going to be the next Zuckerberg…so while I agree there is too much emphasis on trying to even out the demographics in STEM (yet nothing nearly as overt to even it out the other way in humanities)…it’s really the MC boys that don’t go to college AND aren’t working or getting any further training that are the pressing issue.

The %age of young men dropping out of the labor force is a bigger issue…and the numbers somehow claiming disability are also alarming. If they need to shave $2TN from the budget, cracking down on fake disability is an area ripe for savings.

I have a son and a girl and see this difference. The current trend is that in areas where girls are weak it is taken as sign of discrimination and there a tons of programs that encourage girls. Same DEI nonsense.

Take math for example, even after so many pink this and girl that programs, girls are not even remotely close to boys in math competitions.

Now, take emotional maturity, planning, and introspection. Girls are about 10 years ahead of boys in these skills. These skills are just as important as math; however, these skills are critical for college admissions and boys have a tough time due to this.

It is ok, given enough time it would just normalize.

Except boys used to be able to manage this before. We have lost boys to online worlds. They can't or won't live in the real world. Parents, wake up and stop blaming the girls. Teach your boys self-regulation and discipline.
