Karl Frisch running for House of Delegates

I hope Holly Seibold, who took on the local Democratic power brokers by running against Frisch when they had anointed him (despite his glaring incompetence and lack of integrity), inspires parents all over the county to challenge School Board members next year. These liars and hypocrites can be tossed out!

Seems there should be a special election for both seats at the same time as otherwise the county will have to shell out 2X as much money (the last special election supposedly cost the county about $250K).

The 89th District in VA had a special election when Delegate Jay Jones resigned. Candidates were chosen by caucus - in that case all Democrats registered to vote in the district could vote in a drive through caucus. http://www.norfolkdemocrats.org/89th-house-district-nominating-caucus-for-the-january-11-special-election/

I guess Fritsch will be the state based on Mackay and Beyer. In FX for school board non-partisan you had to pay to join to pick candidates for the election ballot. Arlington you don't have to pay.

It really is amazing that 216 people or rather 62% of that or 134 people living in the Providence District resulted in Frisch on the FCPS school board. Billion dollar plus budget. Over 52% of our local property taxes. Now he's being given a seat in the VA House of Delegates. https://www.blueview.org/2019/04/24/karl-frisch-wins-providence-school-board-endorsement-by-wide-margin/

It really is time for this state to go partisan on school boards so we get primaries. So 134 people [political hacks?] gave this county Frisch instead of Jung Byun, who has a degree in STEM-works with data, was on FCPS career and tech committee:
https://www.blueview.org/2019/03/20/kids-need-exposure-to-diverse-careers-says-school-board-candidate-jung-byun/

My post above. 216 people "voted" or paid to select a school board candidate for Democrats to run in a bi partisan election. And you don;t have to be lglly able to vote in real elections to "elect" the D party school board candidate! 134 for Frisch. 2356 or more were allowed to vote - NO payment required so it was 1143 Frisch -48%.

Why doesn't this Fairfax County site, precincts, whch shows number for CONG- US house, SEN=VA senate, DEL=VA delegate, have 35th district on the line for DEL? https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/elections/sites/elections/files/assets/precincts/precinct%20locator_rev_06222022.pdf

FYI: Holly Seibold won the seat in the 35th district. Thankfully, Monique Barundi lost.

Karl is still available to be on the FCPS school board.... sigh... next election cycle. Anyone interested in taking his place????

He can't be thinking of running again for School Board, can he? It would take a special type of chutzpah to have made it clear to his constituents that he just planned for the School Board to be a springboard to another office, and then run for School Board again because he got trounced in a primary.

He does seem without shame, however, so I guess the possibility can't be discounted entirely. But yuck.

Really? I feel like this entire thread has been unusually (for dcum) focused on his actions, and nothing to do with his personal life. What post do you think is "just wrong"? I have major issues with Frisch based on the fact that he was clearly NOT devoted to the FCPS board because he is trying to give it up, abandoning the families in Providence district and leaving them with no representation for the next 2 years, while he climbs politically. This is supposed to be about my children's' education, not his political stepladder. This is a policy-related concern. It's nothing personal. I'm sure Karl Frisch is a great guy to grab a beer with.

I agree with the PP. The name-calling. The level of hatefulness in posts. The nastiness and vitriol. You don't have to say explicitly bigoted things to be bigoted. And even if you really think you're not bigoted, you're a pretty awful person. If you think it's ok to attack someone in the manner he has been attacked here . . . I don't care what you think of him . . . then I can't help you.

And FTR, I am not in his district. Don't have an opinion on him. And only have 2 years left in FCPS so I really don't care.

If you were in his district, maybe you'd know something about how crappy a representative he's been. But apparently you aren't, so you don't.

It's telling that Frisch had more name recognition than Holly Seibold when they both ran for the Democratic slot in the special election for the 35th. She had a small base of supporters in Vienna, but in general she won the primary because she wasn't Karl Frisch.

He may be a crappy rep. Fine. There is no excuse for some of the hateful rhetoric I see on here. You are part of the problem.

It's a 21-page thread, and my criticisms of Frisch are based on his poor performance in office and his overweening political ambition, not his identity or personal life. His shoulders are plenty sharp when it comes to attacking his perceived adversaries, so you should seriously get over yourself.

I'm in his district and he did zilch and didn't follow up on things he said he'd do. I'm a democrat, but don't plan to vote a democratic ticket this time around for SB. I'd prefer independents, and plan to vote on individuals and not political parties.

Agree with PP. And why should I assume that someone who gets a Republican endorsement is going to be that bad when the SB members are supposed to be independent and they might just end up endorsing anyone who challenges Frisch?

I really would like to vote for someone not endorsed by a political party for school board.
