| There is no ne helping the pride recruiting at this point, its all smoke n mirrors. These kids that are committing from pride are doing it on their own. Good for them. KM and Pride always advertises like they are the best thing since sliced bread. At this point i think the whole lacrosse world can figure out that its all BS that KM is feeding everyone. And dont think that college coaches and others in the lax world dont pick up on this. All KM did was hurt the younger kids in pride but sending out smoke signals. |
CLC has been doing HS recruiting for a long time - at least 15+ years. Pride started HS three years ago. It will take more time but Pride will get there. They develop great players. |
| Excuses excuses by pp. look at Metro, they have only been at it for 4 years and look how many they place. |
I’m certainly no fan of the Pride owner. But I think it is unfair to lay all the blame at her feet. The parents have a role in developing the appropriate expectations and target schools for their kids. Pride has some talented players, but I gather for some that they may have targeted schools beyond their reach. If a top level coach sees high talent, I find it hard to believe that they would not still recruit that player regardless of how obnoxious the owner is. Coaches need good players to keep their jobs. That is what drives their choices, not the club owner personality. This all seems too convenient to blame KM for all of their misfortune. Blame should be spread around a bit more. |

So let me get this straight after reading 21 pages of….well…
CLC is the worse because of their ownership (someone who is respected as a player and a coach)…. CLC is awful cause the ownership offers opportunities for all players(not just CLC players) to improve their conditioning… CLC is awful because their players played and competed with the best teams in the nation… CLC is wrong for offering guidance on recruiting and some do and don’ts and places the responsibilities on the players to accomplish those goals…. CLC is wrong for level setting expectations for the recruiting cycle based on the cycle and it’s issues…. CLC is wrong for making sure the players take the lead role in recruiting and not the parents…. CLC is wrong for playing, coaching to improve and playing the best teams they can at tournaments versus playing in division to win their bracket and coming up short like…..hum… what is the name of that other travel team? CLC is wrong for holding a competitive placement process and not making you commit to the team before placements of other clubs…. CLC is wrong by having 15 years of history and placing solid players in the D1 ranks…. Yet after doing all this wrong they still beat Pride 2023 black and have an unbelievable recruiting class in a tough year. CLC turn out strong women who will accomplish much on and off the field! Congrats Capital well earned!!!!! |
| It’s not a tough year for recruiting. Last year was. This year isn’t. |
| It's good to see that many of the issues with the 2022 team do not continue to plague Capital 2023. The original 2022 Blue coach was a disaster, as was the head of the board and several other admin people who have all since been let go or left the organization. The replacement coach also made some questionable decisions that did not help the chemistry of the team or their recruiting prospects when it really mattered. That was definitely a tough recruiting year but there are still some lingering recruiting challenges so it is great to see the 23 teams doing so well with their commitments! |
Was that the NOVA public school coach? |
This may be a fair assessment when comparing the 2022 and 2023 classes from a recruiting process and access to coaches standpoint. Not proclaiming to know exactly what the 2022s went through, but it may be safe to say their access to coaches and visibility was more limited than the 2023s. But it has also been noted by college coaches their 2023 classes will be one of their smallest, if not their smallest classes, because of the extra year players have been given to play. So, in this respect it has been a very tough recruiting year for the 2023s. Just not as many spots available. The good news for the 2024s is this class may be one of the larger one for college coaches. Good luck to all in every class. |
| Pride 22 made a verbal commitment to GW. As a 22 does that mean a walk-on? Seems late in the process for a verbal. |
Yeah, that doesn’t really make sense. Leave it to Pride to count it as their commit though. |
| Everything is theoretically a walk-on - esp. for D3. So for D1, this could be considered just as valid. |
Hi Gussie. Not a Pride parent or owner. But can you figure out a way to stop spamming me and my child with your training classes. I don't want them, and no matter how many times we put unsubscribe they keep on coming. I only realized who you were because of this thread talking about how wonderful you are over and over. I might believe it if your spamming didn't make you look like a scam artist. |
You are pathetic...you say this over and over....report spam and unsubscribe....problem solved. You obviously want to keep getting the emails. |
| Separate from a ClC beef, the classes are great. |
