So I am thinking about using my Grandmother's address to send my kid to DCPS...

I do not officially live with her (no names on any bills) but I do spend the night during the week.

But you don't pay taxes in DC.

Who said I did? I never said I paid any taxes. I just answered a question asking where I lived.

Exactly. It is fraud. If you want to engage in fraud, fine, but let's not sugar-coat things. Nor can you truthfully state that YOUR elderly grandmother (your DS's GREAT-grandmother) is his legal guardian...

You seem to be missing the point. Why should you be able to send your child to a DC public school WHEN YOU DON'T PAY TAXES TO DC TO FUND THAT SCHOOL. Wow....people really have some kind of entitlement issue going on here. The fact that you help out your grandmother every now and then does not change the fact that you have no right to send your child to a DC school.

No.. im actually NOT missing the point. My original question was "has anyone ever done this?" If you haven't move on.. If you have then comment. I never said that she was his legal guardian.

So while you miserable bitties sit around blowing a gasket, my son will attend your GREAT schools while using your tax dollars. Take that and shove it.

End thread.

And when your son's classmates finds out that he live in MD he will, at best, be talked about, and at worse, be kicked out of school. Good Luck with that.

And, you will be billed for the tuition when you are discovered. Don't think you won't be.

Well if you pull up to my DC's school with MD plates, I have been known to record the plates and forward such information to both the school and OSSE. I have known at least one student to get the boot. I do not know if it was the result of my reporting, or a multitude of reports.

I have MD plates and I live in DC. The issue of my plates are between me and MD. I also know kids that I one parent that lives in DC and the other in MD. Also there are alot of Millitary familes that do not have to change their tags. So why do you people stop being so F***King nosey!

Well that may be the reason why I am only aware of one of the children I reported as a possible fraud being shown the exit. It is not about being nosey, as you phrase it. It is about DC taxpayers paying taxes for schools that only a few one to subject their children. The problems arise when free-loaders have the audacity to encroach into the more desireable DCPS and charters and DC taxpayers are left in the cold. If you cannot understand this outrage, I know not what else to say.
