That was pasta salad. Someone described it as vulgar back in 2013. |
| Wegmans has great potato salad |
And bacon. The Fairy Dust of the food world. |
+1 for German potato salad. No Mayo. Publix has good German potato salad, but the closest one is in Fredericksburg. My next vote would be for Red , Hot & Blue or Rocklands. |
Not when my PMS kicks in…yeah homemade is better. But there is a place for lazy potato salad. My belly! I’ll plus one the Costco potato salad. |
Agree! |
There is a huge difference between the cheap and the more expensive deli versions at Giant and Safeway. The cheap versions are loaded with sugar and are inedible. The more expensive versions (selectively, red skin potato salad at Giant and red, white, and blue potato salad at Safeway) are delicious. I’d still get Red, Hot, and Blue if you can, but these are good second choices. |
| I just made this one last night, but left out the celery. It takes like 20 minutes. And it was really good. |

Potato salad with lots of dill is my favorite. You can add dill to storebought to make it more exciting. My friend makes a potato salad with wasabi mayonnaise, which is fantastic.
Truth be told, I haven't met a potato salad I didn't like. |
| Mayo===pus |
Byaaatch where you been? I thought all the rich white peoples eat potato salad. Sitting on their deck and staring at their dirty feet. |
OP here. One of the reason why I don’t make or buy potato salad is that my husband and I both dislike mayo. This could be a potato salad that he would eat. I can still get the store bought or restaurant version as a backup for the people who are coming who requested potato salad. I think they are into the traditional mayo based kind. I appreciate all of the suggestions! |
| Store bought potato salad is fine. It’s often a little heavy on mayo, it is nothing great, but it is a basic potato salad. No reason to think you will get sick. |
If that recipe does not work (needs lots of fresh herbs, I was looking at it the other day) just google oil based potato salads. There are tons. Most are very easy. |
