I'm a huge Friends fan. Have and always will love the show and was not even looking forward to watching this because I just want to leave them how I remember them 17 years ago. But, I went in with low expectations...and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this reunion and it brought back so many memories. Yes, some of it was ridiculous--the fashion show? come on. But, I liked when they were on set reminiscing and I even though I knew about the Jen/David crush before tuning in, I loved the scenes they showed of them flirting on set from years ago.
Something has happened to Jen's face--what is it? Did she shrink her nose? Get fuller cheeks? Something looks out of proportion and it was bothering me the entire time watching. Her body is amazing, but what did she do to her face?? Matt LeBlanc came off as genuinely nice and sweet--he seemed to be having fun getting together with everyone. Matthew is painful to watch. The poor guy just looks and sounds awful. I wish he could get some help. David looks oddly puffy, but you can tell how much he loved playing Ross and his appreciation and adoration for the show. Lisa hasn't changed a bit and she just embodies Phoebe. Love her. Courtney did too much botox on her face. It's too bad--she was gorgeous back in the day. |

I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised too. I guess I hadn’t realized just how much the cast liked one other. I was also surprised by how sentimental Matt LeBlanc was. He was really into it.
Could have done without James Corden (blech) and the fashion show, but some of the other filler I enjoyed. |
Yes, it was better than I expected! Hard to see Matthew Perry looking so unwell and two of the women having distorted their faces though. |
|
Jen did something to her upper lip to take out the wrinkles and it put more space between her nose and mouth.
Leslie stahl on 60 minutes looks like she did the same thing and it looks so odd. |
| Courtney started doing bad things to her face while she was starring in Cougar Town (which is another very funny show!) She got joker lips and it was AWFUL! |

I think I would have rather had no James Corden and listened to them reminisce on set on their own. And definitely no fashion show.
I am oddly glad that it was just a reunion show and no additional reboot episodes like they did with Will & Grace. Don't get me wrong, the W&G episodes were mostly good, but they didn't continue from the finale. Lisa - really looks the best out of all of them David - is next in terms of aging, which is a shocker to me Jen - not bad, but looked better a few yrs ago Matt LB - put on some weight, but I loved his personality Matt P - I don't buy the slurred speech from dental work excuse at all :'( CC - gurrrl, yo face is busted! |
I see Matthew Perry at a Starbucks in Malibu in 2015, and he didn’t look well then either. |

I loved seeing the bloopers and behind the scenes but the table reads and some of the interview stuff were painful. I really liked the show when it was on but was not obsessed with it or anything. Seeing it now brings back all the sentiment and feeling of the time in a way few other things of that era do (I don't get that watching, say, Seinfeld, which I also love).
Yesterday's group texts with my girlfriends included a lot of pleas for honesty if any of us start to go overboard with the medspa treatments. :\ |
The irony is she is probably the most naturally beautiful of all of them and my guess is would have aged the best without intervention. |
I’m increasingly noticing 50-something actresses who specifically have something weird going on with their upper lip. Not sure exactly what it is. |
It's filler or botox to erase upper lip lines. Particularly for a smoker like Jen A, she'd have serious lines in that part of her face. Unfortunately it affects her speech, and she now sounds like she's mumbling with marbles in her mouth. Dumb choice for an actress. |
Definitely! |
NP. If they'd had to actually work rather than just sit around and reminisce and be feted by others, someone would have had to pony up the big bucks they'd all expect to be paid. Of course they got paid to do this "reunion" special but to act they'd all want serious paychecks that could undercut whatever money a reunion episode would earn, maybe. Though ad time on a special like that would be astronomically expensive to advertisers and lucrative for HBO. I think possibly there's just no creative juice there for a script that would make sense. It's so much easier a money-spinner for everyone involved to do interviews. Kind of sad, really, both re: the actors and the creatives behind the show. |
Is that what it is? Her nose also looked much smaller or is it because she had filler to her upper lip and it's distorting the size of her nose? She just didn't look natural and she's usually gorgeous! |
I know a relative of Matt LeBlanc's and he's always said LeBlanc is a genuinely nice guy who appreciates the fame and the ability to keep working in a very fickle industry. |
