A reboot would have been awful. I'm glad this format was chosen even though a lot of the emotion seemed forced. David and Matt were hands down the most genuine.

I agree that Matt and David seemed the happiest to be there, and were the most engaging.

I got the vibe that Matt was the most genuinely happy and David was working to be happy, if that makes sense.

Matt LeBlanc was absolutely delightful to watch. He and Lisa Kudrow still had the comic timing perfect.

Yes, they were the most natural and least forced. I appreciated David's effort though.

Director said David was the most enthusiastic in prepping for the show. It seemed the guys talked more than the girls. We only saw ‘clips’ of what they wanted us to see. Hoping they release the entire shoot so we can see what really went on.

I have to say, as surprising as it was to see Matt LeBlanc look like a normal middle aged person, I LOVED the "Irish uncle" social media meme that came from it

It was so good natured and wholesome, and I really appreciated it. It's like the internet got nice, all of a sudden.

I read all of that in an Irish accent in my head. Thanks for posting.

Matthew Perry and his 29 year old fiancee split up:

I am getting a whole vibe from this quote:

"Sometimes things just don’t work out, and this is one of them,” the actor told People on June 2. “I wish Molly the best.”

New blind (he's Actor C) indicates she'd had enough and dumped him.

Not only did Matt LeBlanc look the most "normal," he looked the best by far. His middle-aged weight and his white hair and his wrinkles and all--he looked great. By comparison, Schwimmer and Kudrow have frozen eye/forehead syndrome that makes them look like deers in the headlights (Schwimmer especially looks odd with the upper half of his face smooth and the lower half jowly), Aniston face is just...weird looking, especially around her nose/upper lip, and Cox is like something out of a horror movie.

I'm pretty sure the only two that really are are Courtney and Jennifer. It's sort of telling that they've been together only one other time, and they were each paid MILLIONS to appear together for one evening/day.

Matt LeBlanc genuinely seemed happy to be there; he was sweetest of them and genuinely seems to have fond memories of his time on the show.

I got the impression Jennifer was acting a part the entire time. All the tears, it seemed a bit much. It felt like she was playing to the cameras/audience.

Matthew Perry was a mess. He's on something and/or just generally not doing well. The cast seemed uncomfortable around him, except for maybe Matt LeBlanc.

The Lisa Kudrow/Lady GaGa thing was horrible. And how have we not discussed how Lisa mumbled under her breath - "I like it better when I sing alone" - was that supposed to be a joke?

I liked the part where they talked about casting the show best - I wish they'd done more of a documentary of the show. I found the behind the scenes stuff the best.

Yes! A good documentary would be interesting--talk to the creatives behind the show, too, not just the cast members. An honest documentary with behind the scenes stuff, casting, some discussion of how the massive popularity of the show actually affected both the show and the actors personally.

Just watching now and totally agree! That was the best part and would love the kind of documentary you're describing, PP.

Anonymous wrote:The diversity criticisms for this show are ridiculous. Most tight knit group of friends are of the same social standing.

The diversity today displayed in most shows is also ridiculous. Always a POC (usually black), always a heavy person and always a gay person. Truly not realistic.

I'm a POC and totally agree it was realistic. A lot of friend groups are white. And most of the ppl they date are white. There was less of a focus on being progressive and checking every box back then. Friends was no different from Seinfeld and Cheers and Mad About You and everything else.

Just watched! What a bunch of malarkey! Paraphrasing “we had such a crush on each other first season we put everything into our first kiss! I even said ‘watch our first kiss will be on tv and sure enough’”.

The first kiss between David and Jen was season 1 on the porch of the apartment when she decided to go to airport to get Ross!

They certainly know how to promote their show!

I don't think they really need to promote a 25 year old show.
