Uh, ok. I’ll go with your comment. AOC is a public figure and puts herself on social media a lot. She (if we take op’s comment and thread as fact) attracts a lot of weirdos and uses her money to pay for private security, while using her platform and elected office to advocate for the police being defunded. If AOC’s lifestyle was a car, she drives a Cadillac. High risk, high reward, high profile, mo’ money mo’ problems, with great power comes great responsibility, etc.

Meanwhile, the waitress who has a used Ford Focus lifestyle and still attracts creeps and weirdos, who can’t afford private security, still has to live in the world. She has to depend on the cops to “protect” her, which AOC wants gone. Pregnant women are most likely killed my a partner, so it’s not like our used Ford Focus waitress will ever really be safe....depending on her location, she may not be able to own a gun. While AOC’s private security is packing heat to protect her.

No; the FBI and/or Capitol police forward her the threats that are particularly troubling, and the FBI investigates. She definitely gets threatened. She definitely has the FBI and Capitol police protecting her. However, women are violently raped and murdered every day and do not have the FBI or Capitol police or private security to prevent their rape and/or murder. She has the financial means to protect herself. Do any other women in government hire private security? I don’t know, but probably, yes. D and R women both. Celebrity women, singers, etc, all have private security. Male politicians do as well. Famous athletes. Male actors. You name it, if they are famous, in the news, on social media, on tv or film, they have security. And their security carries guns.

Meanwhile, they all usually also don’t like guns (except the guns they are paying a lot of money for use in the protection of themselves and their families, go figure) and want to defund the police because when you have your own private police (you and your loved ones have your own personal police force, cool!) violence can be kept away from you so easy peasy lemon squeezily.

And to add to this: can you imagine the staff and manpower it would take to investigate THOUSANDS of credible threats per day?
