+1. Show me the money.

Article linked at 15:02. And, she is not the only hypocrite here.

No one here is denying AOC gets threats. One was posted and linked to, and the claim is thousands of credible threats daily.

Anyone in the public eye can be targeted and threatened with death by loons, btw. It’s a messed up world.

I make a little more than AOC and I can’t afford $3-5K/month extra. That’s really stretching her budget.

This is likely the on top of Capitol Hill Police escorts that she gets gratis.

That's the same amount of money people spend on their daycares and nannies.

AOC chooses to spend it on her personal security. Now do you have a problem with it?

The only problem is AOC screaming to defund the police, while she can afford gun carrying private security. The rest of America would have to defend themselves without a well-funded (and trained!) police force. And, yes, most people would want to be armed.

There’s more than enough illegal guns coming up through Mexico right now... Endless truckloads of military style guns, along with the narcotics and sex slaves. Thanks Joe and Kamala!

I hate to burst your bubble, but cops aren’t all that helpful when women are assaulted, or threatened. I’ve had both happen. The cops just blamed me, like they do with a lot of poor people. Maybe, things are changing. My sister, who lives in another state, got some support from the local cops when she was held at gunpoint by an ex. Still, they didn’t really do much. She got a large dog, and a couple of guns.

Wait.... you all think she is spending this from her personal funds????

Ha ha ha ha. No. no. no. This is tax payer money.

And, it is a bit disingenuous to be screaming, "Defund the police!" or "Abolish the police" while at the same time hiring private security with taxpayer funds....... something that the vast majority of Americans cannot afford.

Thank you!!!!!
AOC yet again, proven to be a fat fraud.
Capitalism is for ME, not for THEE!

99.8% of people don’t get death and rapes threats on a daily basis. Do you?

Really? Tell that to the people brutally raped and/or murdered everyday! I swear if people like you aren’t personally getting raped and murdered, you believe such things do not exist. People get raped and murdered EVERYDAY!

That’s not what this is. Do you know this and you’re arguing in bad faith, or do you honestly not understand what famous women have to deal with?

FAMOUS WOMEN? Are you serious? How about women and girls of all ages and colors and socio-economic status and educational level? Do you even hear yourself?

Women with no money or little money and no anything have to live in this world every damn day and nobody gives a damn how they get by. And they get assaulted, harassed, raped, molested, injured, fired, murdered, etc, everyday. And they are too scared to speak, seek help, are powerless and voiceless, in some cases. So cry me a river for AOC.

So are you arguing in bad faith or you honestly don’t understand what I’m talking about?

You neglected to consider a third option: they're arguing in bad faith, and they don't understand what you're talking about. It's depressingly common amongst Republicans.

Is AOC pro-gun or anti?

Is her private security armed?

Not to go off topic, but her official page misspelled “bipartisan.”

Then why is she supporting open borders with the unrestricted transport of guns flooding America?

Oh, please. A simple google search is pretty easy to do. Evidently, your google is broken.

You will likely not find this story in the NYTimes, the WaPo, the HuffPost, or other corporate media or left wing sources. But, not because the story isn't true. What other reason might they choose not to cover such a story? hmmmmmm

You went from a not great source to 3 even less credible sources.
Fail.

They aren't arguing in bad faith. They truly do not understand what you are talking about. They don't understand what defund the police means because it can't be explained in one sentence with only ten words. It does not mean get rid of all police but that's the RWNJ narrative. Also massive thread fail because the reason AOC has to spend money on personal protection is because of RWNJs constantly threatening her. Lame.

OK, genius. If you had even bothered to open any of the links, you would have noted that they have these little highlighted words in them. Those are links that take you to the documents they accessed to make the reports.
Not to worry, though. Since you were too lazy to do the simple click, I have done it for you. You're welcome.

Au Contraire, Little Grasshopper.
When these people tell us who they are and what they think - believe them.
They mean defund and abolish.

AOC: "Defund the Police means DEFUND."

The suckers who have spent the last few weeks arguing that “defund the police” does not literally mean “defund the police” should be feeling pretty annoyed right now with Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The way the freshman congresswoman tells it, “defund” means exactly what it sounds like.

On Tuesday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and the City Council reached a tentative deal to cut $1 billion from the New York Police Department, “though nearly half will be through shifting school safety from the police to the Department of Education,” according to Gotham Gazette senior reporter Samar Khurshid.

Ocasio-Cortez, who represents New York’s 15th District, did not take the news well.

“Defunding police means defunding police,” she said in a statement. “It does not mean budget tricks or funny math. It does not mean moving school police officers from the NYPD budget to the Department of Education’s budget so that the exact same police remain in schools.”
