| I’m only 5’9” and would never date a fat woman, so can’t be upset about preferences against shortness of baldness or anything else. Preferences only bother people when it affects them. |
| Depends on so many things. Sophie Turner is 5’9” and Jonas is 5’7”. She’s slightly tall for a woman and he’s slightly short for a man but he’s not actually short. And, as the other poster said, they’re both very slight people so it works. But if she was a 5’9” woman and he was actually short for a man, it might be different. |
| Eh avoid short men like the plague. As a 5'4 woman who dated a 5'8 man. The height had an awkward feeling during intimacy moments. Hard Pass |

In college, there were a few tall model type women down the hall. Most of them swooned over a very charming and handsome short guy who also lived on the hall. When someone asks one of the women about what it was like dating such a short guy, she replied in a very husky voice: "It doesn't matter when you're in bed."
This became a common refrain. Women whispered it when he walked by. He liked it. |
| Prince did ok with the ladies. |
Bruno Mars too! Though I suspect he is a perverse asshole in private. |
OK short guy (or woman married to short guy). |
Petite and short AA woman here. Sex with a taller man definitely has its advantages. It’s like swinging on a jungle gym. My SO is very fit, tall, dark and handsome and I’m a puddle of goo. My ex and *most* men I dated prior to marriage/divorce were 5’9, maybe 5’10. The taller guys I never slept with and I just ruled them out because their personality was too arrogant or boring. One guy was a coach at Georgetown and I wanted to snore in my soup on a date. Others were similar, granted it was only a handful or so until they lost appeal due to similar experiences. Now that I’m older and not in 20s, doubt I can go back after two tall experiences. The positions are so much more fun! Tall black men are not as aggressive as shorter/medium height black men. Asian men that are shorter were also more assertive. |
+1 FIL is 5' 4" and literally married MIL because she is 5', but it didn't cure any obvious mental issues. |

I’m 5’10” so eliminating guys who are shorter than me would remove half the male population!
My husband is about an inch taller than me, but the serious boyfriend I had before him was 5’4”. It felt SUPER weird and I was really self-conscious about it... for about two weeks. Then I quickly moved to a place of “why the heck would I care about this?” He was confident, but not cocky, no issues with like overcompensating or anything. We broke up after many years for completely unrelated reasons. |
Wow, stereotyping much? Funny how fat shaming is unacceptable, but it's ok to immediately stereotype a person based off of genetic traits they can't even control. At least you can control body weights. I'm sure every country with shorter people has half the population with automatic insecurity issues just because of their genetics. Lol. |
There are a ton of really great shorter guys. The (former) love of my life was short. All the DC policy wonks, analysys, scientists, GS-15s are short. They’re a little talker at state and dod. Blue collar workers, mostly short. |
DP, There is actually a syndrome associated with being a short man, it is called napolean complex. PP that loved quite a few short men and filtered others in the process, it is a thing. Liken it to calling an obese person insecure. You’re not shaming their weight but acknowledging that with obese it’s comes a likelihood for other characteristics (like insecurity). |
No, Napoleon Complex is a horrendous stereotype. A short man stands up for himself or has an opinion = Napoleon Complex. A tall man is abrupt, rude, and loudly opinionated = CEO qualities, alpha male, ideal. It's complete hypocrisy. |
