I have a new indulgence, and it's ridiculous and I love it

There’s an LA place (pizza? bagels?) that actually added the same minerals to their water specifically so the flavors would be the same. I have no idea if it worked, but water isn’t the most impossible thing.

Apparently Montreal bagels are available too. I haven’t sprung for it yet but I’m tempted!

I received a gift card from Goldbelly and I really want to try the Lou Malnotti pizza- is that what you’re talking about? Worth it? Also my apologies for derailing from bagels but a new small market opened in Kensington and they have these crab bombs that I’m now addicted to. They’re expensive but so good!!!! I try to only get one per week and I split them in half.

Yes, the Lou pizza is good and worth it!

And I do bagels, cream cheese and salmon from Zuckers. Also heavenly.

St. Louis Pizza sounds rough I'm not going to lie. Cracker like crust? But I HATE Swiss Cheese and I think it contaminates everything it touches so I think that's my big objection.

I had to try it when I was in town - it was quite terrible indeed, the cracker crust, fake blend soupy cheese and sweet sauce. On the other hand for St. Louis fast food, I loved the Lion's Choice roast beef.

My new indulgence is the frozen scones, and croissants, from Wegmans. My waist line hates me.

Was coming to add this — I love Montreal bagels and was browsing Goldbelly around Christmas and saw them there. Haven’t bought yet.

Keep one in your purse as backup. You may be pleasantly surprised one day to find it.

We joined the salami of the month club by Olympia Provisions last April. It’s been a nice monthly treat to get a salami in the mail.

Sometimes I buy Lender’s bagels at the grocery store which are in the freezer aisle. They actually reheat really well! I mean, it’s no comparison with a good NY bagel but they do reheat fine from frozen as do many bread products.

You have got to be kidding! Lenders?

Bagels freeze really well. I’m a bagel snob, so I would never eat Lenders, but a bagel frozen fresh is better than a bagel on day 2. We’ve always frozen any bagels we don’t eat right when we get them. We freeze them whole. To defrost, wrap in a paper towel and stick in the microwave for about 40 seconds on half power. They should still be slightly frozen. Take it out and slice it in half, and then either toast or wrap in paper towel and stick back in the microwave for another 15 seconds on half power.
