Seriously. Massive parenting fail when your teen daughter is dating a 30 something man.

One word: Hollywood

Nope. Have you read that article about the Sarah Lawrence students being abused and manipulated by a con man? The story is unreal. The parents can't do a thing after 18.

That Sarah Lawrence story is 1,000 times more crazy and insane than this story about MM.

Seriously, he is shouting STAY AEAY FROM ME. At what point are people not responsible for their own actions. That man is a stop sign. There are enough obvious signals to stay away from the crazy person, at what point are you personally responsible for steering clear of true, clear, and obvious danger?

Do you know anyone who was systematically abused during childhood?

YES. I support survivors. This thread is a great example of why people don’t come forward.

Yes, I am the PP and if ANYTHING taught me how to stay away from insane people, it was the abusive people who raised me. I got the hell out of that house and have successfully navigated away from insane people ever since.

I remember that case, and it's insane. I had two female roommates in college (I'm also female) and if one of them had asked for their DAD to sleep in our room I'd have said no. And if they or the dad insisted I'd have gone to the RA, then the RD, then the dean, then police. WTF kind of college-age girl would agree to this?

At Sarah Lawrence, in 99% of cases, only freshmen share rooms. Sophomores through juniors have singles. It's a tiny, expensive private.

The rest of the story is still insane, though.

Wow. I can’t believe that some posters are being so cruel to Evan Rachel Wood, whom I’ve never particularly liked as an actress but who definitely deserves more than people saying “what an idiot” in response to these f-ed up allegations.

He’s sick. Like deeply sick. And he harmed many young women so deeply—rape, manipulation, torture, emotional abuse. People responding “well, she’s just a dumbass” are pretty screwed up themselves.

What exactly do you recommend?
What do you think makes a rapist?

?

No, we get that.

Do you not understand that his reputation precedes him? This wasn’t some clean cut choir boy. He told the world he was a weirdo into weird, gory, dark kink. That’s who he is.

Anyone with eyes could tell he wasn’t normal and would be bad news.

So, so sick of this narrative that women are somehow unable to make good choices. As another poster said, he was/is a walking stop sign. It’s like the idiots who decide to vacay in places like N. Korea or Syria, and subsequently get thrown into prison there or disappear entirely. Um, hello???? What kind of dumba$$ puts themselves in that position to begin with, when all signs are clearly telling you DANGER?

Oh my! That's awful. This dude's face alone gives me the creeps.

I think this and some of the other stories coming o light give strong support for educating kids about what healthy relationships look like.

We need to stop glamorizing the bad /troubled boy, phase that every girl needs to have.

Some people are in fact very sick and very dangerous and they can and will hurt you and we need to be giving that message very clearly and how to spot those people, and stay away from them. And when that fails how to get out.

I don’t understand how someone so freakishly ugly could end up with such gorgeous women and abuse them. Wikipedia tells me he’s been in relationships with Dita von Teese, Rose McGowan, Evan Rachel Wood, and others. He is creepy with makeup and maybe even uglier without.

I agree with this because most people who are 'bad boys' dress like your average person. This guy dressed like he was bad news, with the makeup, clothes, song lyrics, disturbing music videos, etc. His Hollywood persona uses a cult serial killer in his name! What more could people need to say stay away from this maniac?

I think everyone assumed that it was Marilyln Manson considering she was with him when she was very young (and was probably abused by men before him). I cannot believe the victim blaming on this thread. You lot are disgusting.

I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm about Evan's age, and it was a thing at that time for HW child stars to turn 18 and adopt a bad girl image, so while I don't doubt that MAson was abusive to her, I also think she ignored some red flags because she was 18 naieve, and wanted to seem or appear more grown-up than she was.

Things don't change if we fail to have thorough discussions.
