Seriously. Massive parenting fail when your teen daughter is dating a 30 something man.

One word: Hollywood

Nope. Have you read that article about the Sarah Lawrence students being abused and manipulated by a con man? The story is unreal. The parents can't do a thing after 18.

Yep. They were collecting her checks. They didn't care where she was or who she was doing otherwise. She was a child star from the age of 5. Her first credited role was in 1994.

I remember that case, and it's insane. I had two female roommates in college (I'm also female) and if one of them had asked for their DAD to sleep in our room I'd have said no. And if they or the dad insisted I'd have gone to the RA, then the RD, then the dean, then police. WTF kind of college-age girl would agree to this?

Be VERY careful about telling your kids they need to help “down and out” people. Girls are extremely vulnerable and can easily be taken advantage of by con artists. Girls can think it’s their job to “help” evil crazies, especially when they come from dysfunctional families where abusive behaviors are normalized.

Bet you anything she was routinely sexually assaulted in Hollywood as a young actress.

Is there any part of Hollywood that isn’t full of corruption and abussiveness???
No. Hollywood is sick, sick, sick.

+1. Do any of you actually remember Manson in his heyday? At a minimum he was obviously into BDSM and weird stuff. Not surprising that it extended beyond that.

She was 18! Let's not pretend she was 13 here. At 18 many women are across the country off at college and their parents only know what the daughters tell them.

She and Manson only went public with their relationship when she turned 19. May have started well before that, before 18.

Reminds me of the parents in the Surviving R. Kelly show, who were initially excited their daughters were getting his attention.

Wait I’m confused. Evan is a girl?

Be mindful how you idolize the rich and famous. Your kids will figure out what you value.

At 19, I was dating a 32-year-old man. He was very kind and a really good guy. There was no manipulation or abuse but I was in no way emotionally able to keep up with him. I thought I was in complete control but now I realize I was in way over my head. If could easily see myself caught up in something bad. I was working my way through college away from home so my parents had little knowledge and no say in who I dated.

I glad she and all my he other women are able to tell their stories. I wish them strength and peace.

We need to have more support for girls to report abusers.

Seriously, he is shouting STAY AEAY FROM ME. At what point are people not responsible for their own actions. That man is a stop sign. There are enough obvious signals to stay away from the crazy person, at what point are you personally responsible for steering clear of true, clear, and obvious danger?

Any person with a brain in their head would not get involved with a man like this. Evan Rachel Wood is a delusional person who needs attention - which is why she was with him in the first place.

Since when is congress the audience for dysfunctional relationships?
