I like Shea and Syd. I thought he added a good layer of humor to her more uptight perfectionist personality. I also think despite her not having gone to school (which I’m not sure is true) she has a great team of people at her disposal and I often can see that everything she does is intentional and with a purpose.

I’m watching season 2, which just dropped on Netflix, and I don’t know but just find syd and Shea annoying and fake. I feel like they’re trying too hard to be chip and Joanna Gaines and there is too much fake stuff about their alleged personal life in there.

I also just find her style so repetitive and not particularly streamlined.

Well, season 2 apparently outed them as anti-maskers, so I like them a little less. But I do like their Target line.

I watched a few episodes and was so confused by this. Their poor contractors are all wearing masks but they aren’t and neither are any of the supervisors.

Maybe the non mask wearers were regularly tested during shooting So as not to shoot a tv show with people in masks?

Maybe their rooms all look the similar, but Pottery Barm/Restoration Hardware etc all look the same too. It’s the nature of the beast.

It’s all very meh Scandinavian/Magnolia, except they don’t have any respect for original features, woodwork, etc. They had a client who loves color - and she still did their room almost entirely in white with a couple watery blue pillows. She has a look - but doesn’t really care about what the client wants or the bones of the home - probably because they prefer new construction.

They look similar in display and catalog, what you actually uses those pieces for in a house can vary. She doesn’t vary, that is the point.

I don't know why but all the people/houses on that show have a creepy vibe to me. It's too much "personal brand." From everyone! The stars, the clients, everyone.

It's so boring. No personality at all. I skipped whenever they showed them at home because they are so cringey.

The rooms are void of color and interest.

I think that’s a little harsh. TV shows are an industry like any other and they’re actors like any others. The whole industry has had to figure out how to try to film safely, without masks, to stay afloat.

The lady who wanted a “tropic/Hawaiian” feel to the room and Shay’s reaction to the pillows the lady wanted to use. I felt so badly for the woman. The pillows were so much better than I thought they were going to be. I hope after the show the homeowner bought some inserts off Amazon and put them on her bed. They would look fine in that very plain room.

I thought the kitchen renovation in the 1908 house was really nice and reflected the home well.

I think they are going to get divorced. There was so much tension and she seems obviously annoyed by him and his inappropriate comments.
