My kid had almost exactly the same stats and is studying chemical engineering. His list was: Penn (big reach), UIUC, WUSTL, Vanderbilt, Rice, Emory, Purdue, Arizona State (safety), Missouri University of Science and Technology (safety) |
Doesn’t ring true. |
WPI is a very underrated engineering school. |
Lol yeah these UVA boosters are really toeing the line when it comes to believability |
I know Harvard CS grad this year having a tough time with securing full time employment so I think uva boosters should give it a rest. |
Why would anybody go to Harvard and study CS? |
Nephew loved Rose-Hulman in Indiana. He and his friends have amazing jobs with also excellent grad school opportunities. It seems like he was doing a lot of hands on from day 1 which is why he chose it. |
University of Rhode Island. My alma mater! Great engineering program and by the beach! |
Ur... Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg? |

Not sure why this is so hard to believe, though I was worried about it with the pandemic going on about our kids' prospects. However, apparently the big tech companies are doing fine during the pandemic and are still hiring like crazy. Not sure what else I can say to convince you I'm telling the truth. |
] This. I am an engineer, hire a ton of new engineers and have managed over 100 engineers. The smartest group by far, including those that I have hired from MIT (MIT grads have serious issues when they get into the real world), graduated from WPI. Second group of really smart engineers seem to come from Syracuse. |
+1 I'll add RPI to the list (if it hasn't already been discussed). |
Physics = theoretical Mechanical engineering = practical |
