It's the latter. There are very few Baltimore parents here from many past discussions. The only time they come up is when someone is trying to make a point on ECNL with Pipeline. |

| As much as this is good for Baltimore...with each club bringing in their teams...the excitement of this league in Baltimore will bring top players from other clubs...I am not sure how many parents will take their kid to Pipeline with their reputation just because it is ECNL...I have heard players will travel past Pipeline to go tryout for MD United and Bethesda |

Nope a parent that has a niece that plays on Celtic 05's and a neighbor that plays for BU's 04's. They are both average at best NL teams. we all know it. Just confirms that GA is nothing more than the National League at best. BU's 03's are at least competitive. Celtics 03's are possibly the worst team in the state. Maybe combined we can field some better teams. |

Maryland teams tend to have territories-Bethesda has Montgomery, SAC has Howard, Pipeline has Baltimore, with not a lot of kids moving between the three. There are other very good clubs within each area that compete with each —ie. Celtics in Baltimore, but you aren’t going to. Find many kids from Baltimore driving to Montgomery county three or four times a week or Vice versa. |

Sorry folks, lived in Fairfax for years, we moved to Baltimore to be closer to family and we have always been involved in club soccer.
So people can mention how exciting it is to add this awesome new combo of Baltimore club teams (that by the way never works out) and that's fine but when someone with some knowledge of said clubs and teams gives some accurate info that doesn't fit the narrative suddenly it's discredited and I'm a BOT? GTFO. My kid plays on the BU 03's like I said they are a competitive squad but not I'm not some child blind parent that see's my kid in some way that's unrealistic. We are not that good, certainly not overall ECNL good. I'm not going to be some club chest thumper because they take my money. It's a good club for mine, Dan is a great guy and a solid coach. But we are no top level team, we struggle to score, but are pretty solid defensively. Lose games we should win, tie games we should lose and win a few good matches. But it's a pretty darn good experience. I just don't understand why when average clubs join a league that's supposed to be the best, or even great, everyone thinks suddenly that club and those teams get great. It's such a myopic approach. Kinda like Loudoun in the ECNL. Really just an average club that is still average at best it seems, and the idea that they are great just because they are in the ECNL makes them awesome. Just not the case. So hate me if you will, really doesn't bother me a bit. it's a silly forum full of keyboard warriors, including me it seems but the truth is the truth as much as many people just don't like to see it. I just have not had many reasons to post here lately. |

Op Here, You are an idiot. You judge a team based off of a game or two. That is like the moron dismissing Brazil because of its lackluster performance against Germany in the 2014 World Cup. The reality is the Celtic 05 and Union 04 team will make the GA age group more competitive than they were before the announcement. |

Idiot seems harsh, I make some bad decisions every now and again but I hold down a job and don't sh*t my pants so I don;t know if Idiot is factual. But seems you don;t really like facts much. That's ok. For real buddy, those teams are at best OK playing higher level soccer. It's just the reality. They are average in the National League, and struggle vs actual great teams. Why do people have to get so freaking butt hurt from the truth? Oh yeah it's D.C. that behavior is intrinsic in the beltway. I have heard the Celtic 07's are a pretty good team, but never seen them play, just parents talking. Are they the awesome incredible oft referenced Loudoun 07 team I read about here so much, well I don't know. But does 1 great team make a club? or make that cub deserve to be in a top club based league? Ehh.....I think I'd have to be an actual idiot to agree to those terms. |
