They are games that don't count. Yes. However, they have meaning. They let you know where your teams stands. Weaknesses and strengths. They are played at 100 percent speed with 100 percent effort. If not, they were never elite kids in the first place.

MD United and Bethesda 04’s are in 9th and 12th place respectively in their ECNL division. Please don’t hold them or your close score lines against them as a measure of excellence. NoVA ECNL is predominately in the bottom half of their ECNL division and DMV MD ECNL teams are as well. 1-0, 0-0 games against each other displays the over priced mediocrity.

1. NE ECNL only played 2 games of their season. Your rankings are silly
2. FCV 04, the #1 team in MA DA, tied Bethesda and Maryland United when both teams just came off their HS season and had yet to play a season game. Think about that.
3. So, a #1 DA team couldn't score against a #9 and #12 team (As you say) that just reunited. Good to know

However, FCV 04 did beat Baltimore Union 03 (or was it Celtics?) in a friendly not too long ago. So, there's that.

How do any of the posts above discredit the value in having BU/BC added to the GA? It’s a good addition and makes for a strong local conference, all within easy driving distance from NOVA. That’s the big picture here.

All the single game comparisons and personal tall tales are worth diddly squat.

BU 2004 and Celtic 2005 did pretty well in this little, no name tournament. 2004s beat Philly SC and tied Maryland United. Don't let the facts get in the way of what you're spinning. At least you dropped the fake DD, friends, neighbors, and family act. So that's a start.

Or I was right as rain...

oh man I know it's cool and kinda cloudy but that Burns gotta hurt...Don't let facts get in your way.

Right about what, that BU and BC did OK in that tournament? Because they did just fine. You are a joke.

Except from 2019 MD United played 12 ECNL games and won 6. That is .500 in league. They are currently 1-1-1 in a abbreviated season. They are a middle of the road ECNL team.

They were last year and they look to be similar this year.

NE ECNL >> NOVA ECNL you can type all day and it won't change that fact.

Being mediocre in a better division >> being the doormats in a worse division.

DMV elite soccer is a hotbed if mediocrity. That is why all the hyping of league over club or team.

PDA parents know league doesn’t matter, their kids are on the top team at PDA. Colleges will watch PDA teams play no matter what league they are in.

Colleges will watch Tophat teams, Michigan Hawk teams, Real Colorado and on and on.

The same cannot be said for ANY DMV club.

that's true.

Agreed. Club environment and coaching are what get the players to improve/develop and get recruited....not the league
Anonymous
#1 in DA but can only tie or lose to crap ECNL teams. Go figure. Let that sink in.

There's no apple to apple comparison right now as the new Celtic-Union should be a stronger option at every age group than either club team in isolation. They will probably also siphon other really good players in the area to help their cause.

One of the B-more posters hit upon a good point in where their practices may be in relationship to where the families live and where they tend to draw players from. Sounds like a potential similar issue that VDA has tried to overcome with having practice schedules intended to be convenient for both clubs.

After all the chest thumping is done, you should realize that 1-0 and 0-0 games are quality games. If you are a U16/U17 team losing 3-0, 4-0, then you are above your pay grade. Outside of that, a closely contested game is a win-win for the players...even if it isn't for the stats. It means you are competitive.

Again..closely contested games in your league means your competitive.

The question is, how good is your league.
